  1. Two factors: 1. Major playing time in the Big Ten, virtually all of Bryce's minutes 2. He's a junior coming for just one year, so he doesn't care if the staff is fired at the end of next season.
  2. Can't find any evidence that Scheierman received any offers except SDSU.
  3. Really? A 16, a 9, a 4 and a 2 is pretty much exactly what you'd expect. 1 seeds are supposed to get easier paths than 8 seeds like NC.
  4. He'll slot in at No. 5 on the portal computer ratings: https://evanmiya.com/ btw, Sam is now down to 37.
  5. So kind of like college fans hoping their team loses so the coach gets fired?
  6. This is his 2nd transfer, so would have to sit out a year?
  7. He'll have a lot better options than a backup here. Career 35.5% 3-point shooter at 6-10, averaged 8+ boards.
  8. I watched him several times and thought he was a GREAT shooter, surprised he only shot 36.8% on 3s this year. WVU was offensively challenged, so maybe he was asked to do too much.
  9. I wonder how we're going to run Fred's offense with so little offensive firepower. Forget all the "well, he could shoot xx% better this year" stuff and expecting major player development. Seriously, who of this crew gets the ball at the end of the shot clock? Griesel seems like the best bet at this point, only because of experience, because I'm not sure he's going to break down many Big Ten defenders. Wilcher's a good shooter, but he's not going break down anyone off the dribble either.
  10. That's not fair, he just put on a few pounds during the holidays.
  11. Unless ..... there is a REALLY preferred walkon .... or a SUPER preferred walkon.
  12. It means you were asked to walk on, but presumably no guarantees of anything. Easley was preferred, IIRC.
  13. Instate kids alert crossover: Hunter's departure could open the door for Millard North's Jadin Johnson, who redshirted at ODU this year.
  14. Not technically the transfer portal, but somebody we might have hoped would transfer: https://www.argusleader.com/story/sports/college/south-dakota-state-university/2022/03/24/baylor-scheierman-declares-2022-nba-draft/7160503001/ (maybe this was posted elsewhere)
  15. Three possibilities: 1. Walker doesn't return, buys a bunch of trucks. 2. Oleg transfers DOWN to somewhere he can play. 3. Keita asks for release because Matt A. left. Not predicting any or all, but there's a decent chance at least 1 happens.
  16. ^^^^ This. We've been treated to such bad basketball that we don't even know what real basketball is. I can't imagine another program worrying about whether their players will play hard. Smart? Sure. Unselfishly? Absolutely. But hard? No. Players who don't play hard don't see the floor on a real high major team. Period.
  17. Looking at Walker/Oleg/Keita and figuring at least one won't be here. So we'll be looking for a backup center.
  18. If he didn't want to be here, then time to go, but I wish he'd stuck around. He probably would have provided more in Year 3 than some disgruntled transfer will in Year 1.
  19. So all of the big coaching jobs are filled now, right? Man, that was fast!
  20. Not the UNO kid who everyone's interested in ....
  21. We outspend them and our miles behind them. Oh well, ain't my money.
