  1. I'm with you. The roster chaos has really gotten to me. If we'd gone 10-23 this year and Fred got fired, I'm not sure I could handle another rebuild. Might have just put the burner on low and watched casually.
  2. It used to sound like the fans were yelling "Lewwwww" in the Colosseum, but they were really yelling boo. Turns out they should have cut him some slack, since he was overworked.
  3. Oops, I meant kill the wrestling program.
  4. Still waiting for Trev to be told he has to kill the A&M wrestling program.
  5. Maybe Bell West and Millard North portal guys could do a 3x3 tournament: Chucky, Frankie, Kyle vs. Sallis, Thomas, Murrell Winners come here.
  6. That's gotta be somebody's idea of a joke. Richard has won ONE tournament game in 13 season, only made the tourney 3 times.
  7. Metrics guys take a lot of heat, but KenPom had 13 of the Sweet 16. Missed on SDSU, NC State and Clemson (instead of Auburn, Kentucky and Baylor). Better than my bracket. Here's the pre-tournament probabilities: https://kenpom.substack.com/p/ncaa-tournament-win-probabilities
  8. You can eliminate NIL as a reason for him leaving. We're competitive, except with the big boys, and why would they want him? He either wants to play more or he wants to go someplace closer to home. Or he knows a volleyball player.
  9. Asking for a friend: Can we hold off with the 2024-2025 lineups for a week or so until everything settles out?
  10. Sometimes you have a day that just sucks. This apparently is one of them.
  11. The teams with Billew and Wilcher won 20 games and Hoiberg's won 10, so I'd play guys who earn their minutes.
  12. No iron in the fire regarding the Mountain West, but I think it's worth pointing out that their 2 higher seeds both won. The 4 MW teams who lost were lower seeds: 10, 10, 10 and 11. Getting a lot of teams in the tournament isa both a blessing and a curse.
  13. Yes, he was clueless until he got on board the Husker Love Train.
  14. 6 months, so the UW message board can just cut and paste everything we said about Trev.
  15. That's what he's listening to now. Last year it was:
  16. I cut DeCoursey some slack, since his real job is reporting. Palm and Lunardi, on the other hand, get paid to be utter failures. Lunardi preparing to throw another dart at his bracketology dartboard:
  17. He did, I posted in the outstate kids thread, guess this was the place for it.
  18. Frankie Fidler in the portal. https://www.verbalcommits.com/transfers
  19. I don't doubt TV people like having another "story line," but I don't think the selection committee used it to arrange the matchup. Imo, it just happened.
  20. I'm going to step into it here. I don't know how the women's committee works, but imo the men's matchup was just a fluke. I've been tracking bracketology for weeks, and this matchup has been out there waiting to happen. I checked right after the Trev news and thought, "oh, boy." The committee had a hard enough time figuring out who was in. Then it had to avoid matches through a couple rounds among Mountain West teams (4), Big Ten (3), SEC (2) and Pac 12 (2) in the 7-10 slots. Bracket Matrix had us paired with 9 seed Michigan State. Go up a line, and we're paired with Northwestern. Those don't work, so go down a line and ... TEXAS A&M. Please try completing a seed list without regard to conferences and then get them to fit into a bracket while avoiding conference matchups for 2 rounds. If you think that sounds like too much work, then try doing it by committee. The committee members were up until 2 a.m. Sunday completing the field, and it's hard to believe they spent any time discussing how to arrange this matchup because it fit some kind of narrative. Finally, what would be the motivation for the matchup? Committee members hate Trev? Seems like he gets along well with his people, aside from the entire state of Nebraska now. TV? I hate to break it to you, but 95%+ of the viewers don't know about Trev or care. His departure is a big story here and that's about it. The women's process is not as transparent, and there aren't many bracketologists. But I'd guess their committee faces the same difficulties in the process and would not spent a lot of time on "interesting matchups."
  21. Two recent interim coaches come to mind: --Wichita State, where Gregg Marshall's assistant was fired after 3 years. --Texas, where Chris Beard's replacement has the Horns as an 8 seed. I'm guessing that's not going to cut it with their fans. I'm sure there are examples where it's worked, but I can't remember any recent. I'll use the frequent excuse of "I'm too lazy to look it up."
  22. The track record on hiring successful interim coaches isn't great. Good news for us!
  23. Me every other year: Lunardi's an idiot! Me today: Lunardi's a genius!
