So, do we have a realistic hope to hire someone better than:

    • Tom Izzo or whoever replaces him?  No
    • Mick Cronin?  No
    • Dana Altman?  No
    • Matt Painter?  No
    • Chris Holtzmann?  No
    • Brad Underwood?  No
    • Steve Pikeill?  No
    • Chris Collins?  No
    • Andy Enfield?  No
    • Kevin Willard?  No
    • Fran McCaffery?  No
    • Greg Gard?  Probably not, especially considering its an established program
    • Mike Woodson?  Probably not, he can recruit
    • Whoever replaces Juwan Howard?  No
    • Whoever replaces Ben Johnson?  Probably not
    • Mike Hopkins, or whoever replaces him?  Maybe, or probably not
    • Mike Rhoades?  Possibly

So, if we're lucky and make a good hire, we might end up with the 15th best coach in the conference.  With the lack of recruiting base and the lack of tradition, our biggest hope is that maybe we'll still be playing on Tuesday the week of the Big Ten tournament.

You just don’t know. But at the very least you have to try. I think we can all admit Hoiberg is not working.

We probably are not going land some big fish well known name but it needs to be about fit and fit in the Big Ten. Not playing defense and playing with “pace” to the point where your team feels the need to Jack up terrible shots 30% of the time is not going to work.

There are plenty of mid major coaches or former failed P5 coaches that I’m sure would love a crack at this job.

Because that’s what Trev does. Hoiberg will probably get another raise and we will enjoy another season of the Zooperstars and students from opposing teams sitting front row at our arena.

Nah, he brought Hoiberg back this year when he had every right to fire him last year. Can’t happen again without Trev having egg on his face.

I would be shocked if Hoiberg lasts beyond this year.

Other than mentally breaking us, this game doesn’t mean squat in the long run.

Fred has to get er done this year though so he can let this one beat us Wednesday too.

Disagree. It was one of a few chances in the non con to get a good win. Now it almost feels like they have to beat KSU.

Either that or go on a tear in the Big Ten which we know won’t happen.

If it's not a high ankle sprain, and just a normal ankle roll, the absolute worst thing you can do is rest and stay off it. Obviously I am not a doctor, but I have been around ankle rolls for the last 18 years. When you blow it (high ankle sprain diagnosed by a medical professional), you know. When it's just a roll, you literally want to try to walk it off or it will tighten up on you and cause you more problems. High school kids get this wrong all the time. I've seen kids barely roll it, it never get black and blue or swells up like crazy, and they'll still go get a boot and be out weeks.

You’re not a doctor but did you stay at a Holiday Inn last night?

From Washnut in regards to Kerr.   -My biggest concern for Nebraska is where things stand with their NIL operation. I've heard West Virginia's collective brought a substantial offer to the table. Will 1890 be able to come up with something at least in the same ballpark?

I hope you know more than him that our NIL is in good shape.  I have my doubts it is as strong as you think.  Would love to be wrong.

I thought Kerr was unable to receive NIL due to being an international player?

What are we doing?  You CANNOT afford to lose games like tonight.  Our schedule just isn't strong enough.

What a blow.  What a meltdown.  We're not always going to be able to rely on our 1-2 Fri/Sat punch to get us 2 for sure wins.

The main concern with Bolt was his hiring of Christy due to his zero experience as a pitching coach.

Unfortunately that’s rearing its ugly head. I can’t remember a time our pen was this thin and the lack of talent on the staff.

With our current RPI and remaining schedule it’s pretty much win the Big Ten tournament or bust…..that is assuming we even get there.

Oh yeah there's breaks either way for sure.  We win those two in the regular season and we don't play Minnesota and then maybe we're still out because we don't win our first tourney game. Those just seemed like the couple of games that we could have won had things broken our way more.

The reality was that we didn't even make the NIT so we weren't *that* close.

We probably make the NIT with our current record if we did not get our brains beat in so many times. Losses are going to happen but starting next year we need to turn those 15+ losses in to 10 points or less and that will help our NET dramatically.

  8. I’m expecting Tominaga to move on which means we are again having to flip a good chunk of the roster. Good luck Fred

With that said, I’ve heard some names rumored that may hit the portal with NU being a landing spot. Some local kids.  I’m taking it with a grain of salt as good things rarely happen with this program.
