  1. BYU hit 20 three pointers in the first two games. I would say that is probably the biggest difference between the two teams at this point. We just don't have very many deep threats.
  2. Thanks. I had no idea but I was watching the first half over again and was confused by the score updates. That is funny right there, it such a bad quality of link, you couldn't tell it is something you already watched. Sounds like something I would do. Apparently I need to get my eyes checked. I thought it looked familiar.

  4. Not sure about the players, but the refs have really brought their A-game on the traveling calls. When NU gets to the real season, they should score a bunch more since they won't get called for traveling 15 to 20 times a game. Half of our turnovers this trip seem to be traveling. The good news is it's not our inability to dribble the ball...it's our inability to adapt to Fiba rules. Apparently traveling is different over there...who woulda thunk it.
  5. Offense appears much smoother this game. McVeigh is going to help out this year for sure. Starting to like his game more and more.
  6. Yeah...because we were such a great rebounding team last year right? Ed Morrow will help in that department no doubt but as 6'7 freshman he may have some issues guarding centers in Big Ten play. I wouldn't be so worried about height if we had a team that could shoot make jump shots. That is still a major question mark.
  7. I hope so. Although it would not surprise me to see Benny start the season in the starting rotation over Watson. I'm not sure how we will counter anyone with a legit big man. Should be interesting.
  8. Maybe Addidas can send some big men our way.... "Yes! Under Armor and Adidas deliver players to their schools." http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/eye-on-college-basketball/25273953/candid-coaches-has-a-shoe-company-ever-cost-you-a-players-commitment
  9. Illinoi's Darius Paul suspended after getting arrested in France. After being suspended all of last year I'm not sure we will see him wearing a Fighting Illini uniform. http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/eye-on-college-basketball/25270939/illini-junior-forward-darius-paul-suspended-after-arrest-in-france
  10. I wish we had a 43 year old PG with a 52% career three point percentage.
  11. Down 32-26 at the half. White was probably player of the half. It appears we are struggling to adapt to how the games are called here. We had quite a few turnovers that probably would not be called in season.
  12. 32-25.....Jacobsen with a nice three ball. Cutting into the lead.
  13. Morrow with a monster block. We just got called for our 5th travel.
  14. Down 23-9 at the end of the first. Maybe we should start recruiting Spain for some shooters?
  15. White looking good early...hitting 3 early jump shots. Down 12-8.
  16. White gets us on the board with what appeared to be a little fade away jumper
  17. Down 7-0....with plenty of bricks. Wide open looks but we still can't shoot the ball.
  18. All I know is Ed Morrow is one bad dude. Quite amazing he didn't lift in high school and still plays the way he does and has the body of a seasoned college vet. It was good to see Tai be aggressive and finish some tough shots. It would be nice to see him hit some jump shots as come Big Ten play the ability to drive obviously will be much harder when teams don't respect your jump shot. I'm not all that concerned with how White looked around the rim....to me it looked like quite a few of our guys were not very comfortable on that court. It looked like they were playing on ice.
  19. I think we are going to be hearing Watson to Morrow quite a bit over the next four years. They both just to appear to have that "it" factor. I was also pleasantly surprised with McVeigh. Not that I didn't expect him to be solid but he appears to be more athletic and smooth than I thought he would be at first. All the freshman except for Morrow maybe have a ways to go on the defensive end but that should be expected.
  20. The majority of our points appeared to have come on the drive...atleast when I was able to watch. The good news is that quite a bit of that was created by ball movement. Come Big Ten time we will need to be able to hit some jump shots and I'm not convinced as of yet we will be above average in that department. Overall though I really liked what I saw from the Freshman. A really solid core to build on.
