  1. Perfectly executed. That guy has a bright future
  2. Norm, I trust you. I bet the ladies do also
  3. Well, if Baylir did get hosed, it couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch of cheaters
  4. Actually 3 or 4 years. It was Robert Morris where he only stayed a year.
  5. 120. 609. For some reason, UNO was the darling of many on the main board this year. Some even contended UNO would beat the Huskers. I noted a couple of months ago that it doesn't play defense. Several posters objected to that thought. One true believer even suggested that giving up a lot of points isn't indicative of poor defense. Well, I could still be the one who is wrong, but UNO gave up 120 last night to end its season. It was flashy, scoring 80 points in the second half. But it's still a loss. One other highlight of the UNO-Duquesne game: Attendance(game was in Pittsburgh) was 609. Somebody lost some money on that one.

BAD news on this topic per the sports tonight: We have been practicing with 6. In addition to those we knew about, Kalenta is questionable with a foot injury. And Simon is out with an ankle injury (very disappointing; getting her some valuable experience was a big positive to accepting the bid). Shepard listed as questionable. Well, lace 'em up, and do the best we can!
  7. Good post, Dimes. Where there is a little smoke with the retweets, there could be a little fire. One type of transfer is where the player truly needs to find a level where they can play. They have limitations which no amount of patience, effort, and persistence will allow them to play major minutes at this level. If they want to play a lot vs. just being part of the team, transferring makes sense. The other type is explained by the first retweet above. The player has some things to work on, but with some patience, persistence, and work on the weakness which is keeping them off the floor, can eventually still be successful at this level. The adjustment to this level has been a slap in the face or a blow to the ego, but the opportunity is still there. Think Andre Woolridge, where a lot of folks 60 miles down the road put the onus on the wrong place. Even think Tarin Smith. On the current team, think of the difference between a Fuller/Eveland situation, and someone like Morrow, who had a series of setbacks and I'm sure in his own mind and probably those close to him didn't have the season he wanted and expected to have--but is still a very impressive lump of clay from which to mold a high level player, if he trusts the coaches and sticks with it. (I am just using Ed as an example for the general transfer discussion; not meant to be "loaded" or suggestive of anything he may or may not be thinking).
  8. Watched a game the other day where every time a kid caught the ball out top he shuffled his feet 3 or 4 times, obvious shuffles and yet no call. Agree time to do away with it much like holding on an offensive lineman. I disagree completely. That's not basketball any longer. We might as well just put limit the game to great athletes, vs.those with skills and hard workers who embrace fundamentals. Do away with defense completely. Start the score at 100-100. Why even require the dribble?
  9. 3 officials. No can see the blatant travel, or no one has the guts to call it. Either way it is a disgrace and a perversion of the game. The guy under the basket looking right at it ought to be fired and relegated to The Kidney League.
  10. Rematch of our first round NCAA game the year we were a 1 seed.

Whole lot of jerk and calling people out on both boards tonight, FB. Take a nap.

Geez, is that field big enough? It's like the Big 10 tournament: Iowa, Minny, Rutgers, NW, Neb, Michigan.
  13. HB, we said the same thing about officiating in the Big 8 and the big12. Heck, jimmy was bitching about officiating in the old Missouri Valley conference... The way to change calls is to win a conference regular season championship. Haven't done that in a hundred years.... Are you gonna do the lunch thing? Or is it "I'm too busy". It's circular, Cip. Chicken and egg. How the hell ya gonna win the championship if you're gettin' violated the whole time? And yes, I said it in both those conferences cause it was true. Saw it with my own eyes. Would love to do the lunch thing but out of town until next Tuesday. Open Wednesday and Friday of that week if that works.
  14. Is Spinelli his lead recruiter? Scott, don't do us like that!
  15. Does the Big have a reffing problem? Yeah, they suck. The last 3 minutes of the Maryland game were inexcusable. I don't bitch about them missing a difficult judgment call. I do have a problem when they are inconsistent and call it one way for the chosen ones, and one way for the wannabes. Well, I'm sick of them. I would make Pat Chambers' tirades the last 2 years look like child's play. Keep 'em away from me.
  16. Competition in this league is tough.
  17. Loved the D1 final between Walthill and Winnebago. Good ball movement and unselfish play by both teams. Good play in both the post and perimeter. You could tell it was the 3rd game in 3 days, but all in all good hoops.
  18. Baseball is fun to watch when the staff isn't walking guys. Even Knutsen found the zone today. Ersty/Silva got away with not pitching around Loyola's stud for the 3 run homer. Especially when the double steal opened up first base. We did it the prior at bat. Played with fire here and got blown up. Nice to win with Boldt going 0-5. Ben Miller can just flat out rake.

Pretty sure I got an email. Perhaps it was because of the men's tickets, and the women's order was on there.
  20. Trust me when I say I have not earned that compliment yet. And your observations are just as worthwhile as mine. What game did you watch? Serious question. Because he had a poor game against Fremont, where his midrange game did fail him. Comparison to Kyle Marks couldn't be any further off, fwiw. He's a 3 at the next level, and his shot will be just fine, fundamentals are there, handles will be fine. Remember he's just a junior, playing on a team that doesn't necessarily (or at all) work through him or get him shots. They pressure and get steals, then just play dribble drive 5 out on offense. Whoever scores, scores, almost exactly like Central a few years ago (sans a big man). Also sat out all of last year. Is he a 5-star? No, not what I'm saying. But I fully believe assuming things go as plan, he can be a very solid player for us. I was at the game against Papio and the game against Fremont. I think he was 2-8 from the line against Papio, and the misses were ugly. Perhaps the fundamentals you see will prevail, but I saw a guy without an outside shot. So I was hoping he can grow into a 4, cause I didn't see a 3 on offense.
