  1. I think teams are allowed 15 scholarships in WBB. Men are limited to 13. Title 9 thing?
  2. Regarding Creighton, I think all 5 seniors have a Covid year available, if they want to return. (I think, not positive)
  3. Should have "T'd" her. That would put a stop to it.
  4. Thanks Papa Here is the link to the entire press conference. From around the 2:30 mark to around 5:00, Jaz and Alexis share their thoughts. Kleenex advised.

  6. The refs were doing a terrible job of communicating who fouls were on. Even had to stop the game and rewatch video to get official scorebook up to date at one time. Probably delayed the game 5+ minutes? I was glad the correction was a 3rd foul on number 2. She was tough.
  7. I'm OK with both extensions. My only question, the timing. Weren't President and AD positions filled by interims at the time? Who actually made the decisions?
  8. Graduate students can enter the portal any time. Are the players you mention, graduates?
  9. On other sites, Ronnie Green and Ted Carter leaving, plus a dysfunctional BOR have been mentioned as possible contributions to Trev entertaining an offer.
  10. The post player from Bellevue West played well (Dani Coyer). Looks like she is going to Bellevue U. I wonder if she was ever approached about walking on? She might have been a role player down the road.
  11. They did mention, she was playing with 'turf toe'. Might have affected her play some. I do agree, her contributions will be from the bench. As discussed in other threads, role players can make a difference.
  12. Yvonne Turner and Dominique Kelley made a nice homegrown backcourt. They've done well with their basketball careers. If you include defense with offensive production, they were special.
  13. I'll be happy if she has a freshman year similar to Weidner's. A healthy Allison, for a couple of years, sure would help Prince adjust to B1G conference play.
  14. We are having a good year. I agree, role players like Stewart are absolutely the glue of a team. But, Redhac and Longtimefan have a point too. I don't think they were arguing against role players. They were looking at the roster, going forward. We lose Markowski in a year. Do we have someone on the roster than can provide the scoring and defense in the post that she provides (especially defense on the other team's post player)? With the addition of the west coast teams, it will get tougher. I also expect Rutgers and Maryland, and others will raise their games. I am enjoying this year. I expect most of their objectives for the year, are still alive. 'Hats off' to all involved. But, IMO, everyone will need to up their games if we are going to enjoy similar success going forward. Prince will help a ton. Bringing in an 'All Conference' level replacement for Markowski, would also help. We aren't 'far off', at least not today.

    All B1G

Do they take 10 for first team, or only 5?
  16. I like how she keeps her arms up. Rebounding seems to be improved. Maybe dad is pitching in too?
  17. Krull also contributes without filling up the stat sheet. Tough kid, gets after it. Stewart also showed a willingness to mix it up. Coley has played under control the last couple of games too. She wasn't looking for a shot, but took good care of the ball. We had an impressive 'team' take the floor last night. I know, Northwestern has only won 3 league games, but still, an impressive outing.
  18. An enjoyable game to watch. Team blocked out all outside noise, and did their thing. 10+ minutes playing time across the board. Everyone contributed. Other than the last couple minutes of the Iowa game (and postgame activity), this was as much fun to view as any this year. Always satisfying when the players are smiling.
  19. I posted what was available on the internet. Thought maybe the detailed story, on the On3 website, might be proprietary. Plus, it gives you one more thing to complain about.
  20. Per On3 news release... Former Nebraska women’s basketball player Ashley Scoggin filed a lawsuit against the school amid allegations of an inappropriate relationship with former assistant coach Chuck Love. “It arises from a professional coach initiating a sexual relationship with a student-athlete on his team, and from the response of the University of Nebraska and its athletic leadership to the confirmation of that relationship,” the lawsuit read. Love resigned from his position as associate head coach back in May of 2022 after a three-month suspension. Scoggin departed the team that February and currently plays for UNLV. Scoggin also named Amy Williams, the current head of Nebraska, in the lawsuit. Not only that, athletic director Trev Alberts is also named.

  22. +/- Lots of appreciation in the threads for Nissley and Moriarty. These stats seem to agree with your assessment. https://storage.googleapis.com/huskers-com-prod/2024/02/11/oKbWPPpcFok7UzSwmqIZRnhE4wH8Ro6IoYBQS6Bs.pdf
  23. Nice shot of Haiby giving Markowski a hug after the game. A win for all players/fans, past and present. The game of the day, any sport, just finished up in Lincoln. SUPER job Huskers.
  24. Petrie is coming along. I imagine the international game is just different enough, our college game takes some getting used to. She has some nice moves around the bucket. Seems to pull one or two out a game.
