  1. I'm thinking the starting lineup is going to be Bria, Hannah, Nicea, Maddie, Darrien. Just my guess though.

Looking at the whole scope of the team, I agree with Actualfacts. I think that it's Darrien's job to lose for the starting center. Bria is also nursing an injury but is playing through it. As long as she stays healthy, I see her getting the starting nod at pg. She's an explosive pg that can get that transition going. She can also score but looks to pass first. I haven't seen Taylor or Janay play but I hear they are very good. I think Maddie will probably get the nod as she turned it up the last few games of last season and has the potential to be a very good player. I think she'll be on another level this year. It's a no brainer that Nicea and Hannah should start seeing what they did last season and as long as they continue to work hard. It should be an interesting season.

Thanks. Bria has told me so many good things about Nicea as well. It's going to be an exciting year.

  3.
This Nebraska crowd is ready for a few nice surprises this year. Last year was a tough one, but there seems to be a very positive vibes coming from the "new" squad.

Welcome to Nebraska womens basketball and this board of basketball "experts"...we're very happy to have Ms Stallworth here, and hope she does have a great experience at UNL.
I've gotten a few glimpses and feedback on your daughter's basketball skills, and am really looking forward seeing her and the team come together this fall.  May take a few games to get their feet wet together. But that's all part of the fun.

Like some of us predicted earlier....we may well win more games in the preseason than all of last year. If we're even close that....it  will be an excellent start.

Again ...WELCOME TO YOU, YOUR FAMILY, AND YOUR DAUGHTER !

    Thanks. We appreciate it greatly.

  4. So...it's been quiet on here for a while...

Anything that pertain to our team???    ..... that's real news on recruits...or....summer practice?

I'm in the middle of moving......so have been out of touch a bit for a while. Just moving across town...but it's still a real pain.

There's a surprise coming in the next day or so.

  5. I know at least a couple of player dads and other insiders visit these pages on occasion.  Since things are slow and new info is scarce, could you share any information regarding the team?  Do the players spend the summer in Lincoln?  Are there organized sessions? How is Burns rehab coming along?  How is the teams relationship with the coaching staff?  Are the players close? Will last years transfers fit in well? Can we expect an up tempo approach this year?  Does team conditioning reflect this? Are leaders developing on the team?  Obviously, tons of inside information that could be shared.  Thanks in advance for any news.  Fans need their fixes.

The players are due back on campus on June 1st but they don't start workouts until June 12th. I think that this upcoming team would have to be a Golden State Warriors team where they just run and gun. We need that Draymond type of player which I think Maddie can be that if she settles down. We saw signs of that towards the last couple of games.
I think that the transfers will help but will it be enough? One transfer is putting in work this off season. I know she should be ready. Her trainer says that she's got that bounce. I hear that it's hard to find a big.

  6. I don't think what is coming aboard next year is going to make a huge difference.  More quality depth but it is going to be a long climb out of the basement.  I follow the team faithfully and wish them well but we have to be patient.

I agree. We need a couple of more players to be able to compete for next year. I think we need some JUCO program changers.

  7. Trying to give everyone a chance or trying to keep everyone happy? Our starting line up has changed once this year and it was because of an injury. I watch a lot of the Iowa games and I know their starting line up has changed, AT THE LEAST, four times this year. (Sorry to the Iowa haters for referencing Iowa).  As much as we are struggling do we need to try some different mixes? This last game there was no flow or emotion out there.

I agree with trying something different. The only thing I can think of changing is throwing Maddie in the starting lineup for Alley since she's struggling right now. Other then that, I don't see anyone else that can start. I don't want to sound mean or anything but we just don't have enough players that can compete at a high level.

  8. When coach was at South Dakota, did she play her whole bench ? or did she have a rotation of 7 - 8 players. The two guys that sit behind me made the comment that this isn't junior high where everyone needs to play. I just want some ammo for the next home game so that when they spout off I can set them in their place. Whoopteedoo do you have anything?

People on my side were wondering the same thing. I agree with actualfacts. I think that she's trying to give everyone a chance this year. IMO, I don't think everyone should be playing. I watched the Penn State/Indiana game last night and Tyra Buss and Teniya Page played basically the whole game. I think that you have to ride with your best players and that's usually 7-8 deep.

  9. Fastbreaker - Usually what separates mid major kids from big 5 kids is size. Heart will take care of size in some cases. I just finished looking at the Va Tech/Wakeforest game and the girl from Va Tech just scored 20+. The announcers said that she was overlooked coming out of high school. She was one of our focuses on the scouting report when we played them earlier this year. There are are some players in the big 10 that should be at mid majors and vice versa. I think that the coaches see the gaps and will get the players needed to be successful. It might take 2-3 years but you have to remember that they are playing with someone else's cards right now. Some people might be saying that some of these players are mid major players. We just have to keep bringing out the positives and hopefully things will turn around.
