He redshirted.  In the 1+done era.  As a (borderline) 5*.

    That was criminal.

You think him playing his freshman year instead of redshirting he would've gotten drafted higher than 16th? Did you see him playing for North? He would've gotten eaten alive without gaining at least a little strength and stamina.

McDermott has a pretty stellar record of getting guys to stick around the program even when it's against their best interest to do so though.  He has ruined more than one pro career in a selfish effort to further his program.

Anybody remember Justin Patton?  Yeah, me neither.  I had to look him up to remember his name.

Who stayed when they should have gone? Patton played one year there.

I thought Kalkbrenner had already said he'd be back. Alexander's draft stock keeps slipping little by little the older and older he gets. This is a very weak draft class overall so he could still go late first round. He should leave.

Their board saying Kalk most likely not back. Pry NBA. Even potential to transfer to a blue blood for his last year and get a $3-$4 million type bag for one year like Dickinson.

After watching this game, my level of hate for U Conn is incredibly high.  To the point when they play Creighton,  I won't know who to cheer for.

They are really good, but Purdue was screwed in this game.  They can't get 3 point shots off, and they can't guard U Conn's guards.

UConn’s guards were always going to be the reason they won with Clingan and Edey basically cancelling eachother out. Loyer Jones and Smith never played a combination of guards like that all year that all run Hurley’s sets to perfection and can also defend the 3 with their size. They just wear you down and make it look easy.

But I do agree that their fans are extremely obnoxious and some of the worst on social media.

    On the surface, great pick-up.

However, it worries me that this might mean Reink is gone. They're very similar players but I think Reink is much better. Hope this guy came in to be a part of the rotation and no guarantees on starting or whatever.

Still think we need a long/athletic big to replace (and improve upon) Allick.

Was going to say the same. Very similar to Reink. Don't think we'd play these two together. Unless he's ok splitting minutes with Reink.

That’s pretty normal for lottery picks coming out as freshmen  in college. The potential #1 pick was Colorado’s third or fourth best player. Kentucky has two of them this year who actually weren’t in the starting lineup.

Good point. UConn still wins by about 10 tho. Only lost one game at full strength this year. Just think their guards are too good compared to Purdue’s.

UConn has too much for Purdue.  I will be pulling for the Boilers but they are going to be overmatched.

UConn is a different level right now. Having a lottery pick as the 4th or 5th best player in your starting lineup is definitely something.

The home team gets to decide when the game is played. There is no way we would schedule a basketball game on the same day as a football game.

And when it's been in Lincoln it's also usually the first weekend of December and the same weekend as the B1G championship. Can't have it Saturday night of that weekend in case we're playing in it.

Take with a grain of salt about NIL as this is apparently what some coaches are relaying to a guy who runs a HS scouting service.

KU has a reported NIL roster budget of around $7 million for basketball. It's stupidly massive. I think Dickinson got like $3-$4 million. Unreal.

This type of transfer makes me stop and pause as we think about culture fit.  Someone who transferred to a team that was in the Top 25 for the majority of the season, started, and led the team

in scoring.  What else could he be looking for?

I'm leery of anyone that transfers more than once. Especially twice in two years. Think only exception would be someone like CJ who transferred then spent a considerable time at that destination before transferring again.

  11. Sounds like Moser wanted more money and the promise of a new facility and is going to get it from OU after playing hardball.

OU letting a coach walk for Depaul is pretty bad optically. Can't let that happen. Even tho it sounds like Depaul was ready to pay the $6.5 million for his buyout.

I disagree 7 is yhe ceiling. Neutral court wins over Indiana, Illinois, and Purdue,  the last 2 top 10 teams, and I think a 5 seed is likely. Two quad 1a wins on bracket weekend would push us up a ton with how bunched things are.

I don't think the above is happening,  as much as I'd love to test my theory.

They have most the seeds decided on and bracket set by the end of Friday. Most weight is put on what you did in the regular season. Only last minute changes they make are for bid stealers that were never projected in the field.

Still seems like Iowa St (or some Big 12 team) has a good shot at a #2 seed because 4 someones have to be 2 seeds. A run in the conference tournament by a team in the 3 or 4 seed might be enough to shift that.

Yep agreed. Everyone on the 3 line in that graphic could make an argument for a 2 after todays results. And if Kentucky makes a run they could surpass everyone for it.

Iowa State and/or KU will straighten it out and be back on the radar for Omaha. I think NU can still be there at either the 7-seed or 10-seed, depending on how things go in the next week or so. GBR Always.

I think they’ll be high enough to both play in Omaha I just don’t think our potential seed lines up with them anymore. Win tomorrow I think we’re locked in at a 10 and maybe a 9 and don’t really think what we do in the B1G tourney would change that unless winning the whole thing. Don’t see either of KU/ISU being 2 tho. KU especially they’re just not very good.
