  1. T-Rank is good for looking at similar resumes and seeing where those teams of the past ended up in the field or not, but I don't like using them for projected field. There's a reason they're close to last in accuracy rankings on bracketmatrix.
  2. For football, I think big boosters are willing to try and buy back a good program with a ton of cash in order to make them relevant again, not only for the returns it would create when it happens, but for the nostalgia factor as well. For basketball, I think our big boosters are a lot more wait-and-see or rather just apathetic atm. Not as willing to try and "buy" a good basketball program on top of football too. Getting Nebraska football back will take a lot of cash, and we already missed on QB1 year 1. The Creighton situation is simply different. It's basketball only with resources focused solely on that and a program on firm ground. Boosters are willing to foot the bill for a program when they know it's practically certain the product coming in each year will yield results/returns.
  3. Michigan State can't shoot. Idc if they're coming off an L. Find ways to get Keisei the ball on offense, including him just bringing the ball up instead of JLaw sometimes. And play defense/crash the boards with intensity. This isn't Cal State Fullerton anymore it ain't falling into your lap. I'd hope that these last two games are enough of a wake up call to realize that. Go effin get it and put a body on someone on the way. Doing that alone at least gives you a chance to win.
  4. I get the vibe Penn State views and spends money on basketball like we do. Can spend a little if they want, but all of it is primarily for football. If throw throw a couple good years together to get some fans excited great, but that means there's also a chance the coach leaves for a higher pedigree program at that point too.
  5. Would Craig not take this job cuz of Miles? Edit: No offense to Craig, but if you're Minny and have the pick between the two it's pretty easy.
  6. Niko is priority #1 for Minnesota. You just have to hope they produce enough of a season that doesn't warrant firing. Even so, Niko will be a hot commodity regardless.
  7. Otz was there for the four years McDermott was there, and they really didn't do anything of substance. Fred took advantage of the transfer portal at ISU when no one else was. Then everyone caught up while he was at the Bulls. By the time he came back to us, the entire landscape had changed. And thus, the demise.
  8. Definitely needed to make more of an effort to slow it down. Seemed like we wanted to run, run, run, and that's what they wanted.
  9. All of Mast's 3 PT looks looked looked great off the release. I know you have to make them, but they were great looks. A couple more of those go in with what the score was at the time and the game's changed. Allick, on the other hand, needs to forget the 3 ball. Take a couple dribbles in and spray or give it up and set a screen for somebody and crash the board. You can't have his 3 PT shot basically become a turnover against good teams.
  10. Once Minnesota has their coming to Jesus moment and pulls the trigger to hire Niko Medved, that will be very bad.
  11. Definitely down with that. I'm talking like Duke big. Unsure if he'll get that offer but that's what he wants.
  12. People forget they were pretty average until the end of the season last year even with Hauser.
  13. After watching most of that KSU game last night, they didn't look the greatest. A lot of iso ball.
  14. MSU won't be good this year. They weren't even that good last year but Hauser got them out of a lot of jams. With him gone, they're pretty pedestrian. In regards to the game last night, Allick impressed me the most. Great athleticism and nose for the ball. That's a big man.
  15. Dauster seemed pretty happy about the Big Ten imploding early last night https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxtZoam2QXoAnECfdkl4uyJ_cljiuV-2fY?si=BVGwZIK3-LDjqQPI
  16. You need to at least brace it if not boot it to allow it to heal, but I agree that you need to keep it moving during that process as well. If you simply don't rest it at all, you run the risk of cartilage damage/erosion and arthritis far sooner than someone should have, which would kill the career of a basketball player. If it's a serious normal roll, you need to ease back into it so that it allows the ligaments to heal while the gradual PT will minimize scar tissue.
  17. So basically they're just rewarding cellar dweller P6 schools over low and mid-majors for cash?
  18. Oh no doubt. I just remember seeing this tweet from an interview with his pops and thought "well he's not going anywhere" https://x.com/gionysports/status/1715070921264816544?s=20
  19. St. John's also has 3 projected starting guards graduating after this year, so Wilcher will be starting next year. And he's playing for Rick Pitino. I wouldn't get your hopes up. Simeon played the most minutes of those coming off the bench in their scrimmage last week. As a true freshman, I think that's a pretty good indicator of where Pitino has him in the pecking order.
  20. This is the only reason I think Allick starts and Gary is staggered in. Being frank, you cannot expect Gary to play a full season with a shoulder injury as serious and lingering as his with the physical way he plays being his best attribute. It's bound to get injured or at the very least tweaked through the course of the season. You have to just try and get as much as you can out of him.
