  1. I def dont think Thor is a complete scrub like some do on this board. Obviously you dont want him to be your 4th, 5th, or 6th best player. But you can be a successful team with him as your 9th or 10th guy. Im excited to see him develop as a Husker.
  2. Glad Thor got some extensive minutes (once again had some flashes i liked; really think hes a solid passer) and Costello and Trueblood both got minutes AND buckets. Cant wait for Wednesday! Im out to watch the CFB Playoffs and drink too many beers. GBR.
  3. Dont think those are accurate. Both Nana and Thor scored.
  4. Thomas Allen, Jervay Green, and Nana Akenten are the only safe bets of good 3pt shooting next year. Dachon Burke was an okay shooter at a low level of D1 bball. Akol Arop just recently discovered his shot from deep. Aside from him catching fire from 3 at that one AAU tourney Miles was at, does anyone know how he has been shooting? Karrington Davis is a complete wildcard. Will have essentially gone two whole years without playing much bball by the time he is healthy. Roby is a better shooter than he has shown this year but not as good as his percentage showed last year. Thor, Brady, and Amir arent currently threats from deep. Dont know much about MAW's shooting.
  5. Not worried as well. Especially since they are all upperclassmen and are used to the grind/ have had multiple offseasons in the conditioning program.
  6. I only drink coffee, water, and beer.
  7. Lets not forget Tai made his biggest improvements during his junior amd senior years (i know they dont have the same skill set and arent the same type of players). But Thor has shown some flashes of things i like. Im sure the jump from Iceland ball to B1G ball is pretty significant. I will also root for him til he is no longer a Husker. GBR
  8. Good ones probably average about 30-35. They should all be fine though. Only playing two games a week. Remember last year the schedule was condensed so they could play the BTT at Madison Square Garden.
  9. - Glynn with the less common type of double-double. Even though he is a scoring type of PG i love that hes still finding his teammates. Too many weapons on this team for him not to average 5 assists a game. - Palmer was on it again. Ever since Creighton his game has seemed a lot smoother and not nearly as forceful. If he is knocking down 3's youre not gaurding him - Copeland almost went unnoticed for me and still put up a solid stat line - Roby was much more aggressive in the second half. Needs to work on his free throws though!!! (7 or 8 misses) - Nana and Tom did what they needed to do. Both are threats to hit double digit scoring. - Thor has had some nice assists almost everytime he has seen action. Thats something positive to say about him since he only seems to get s**t on. - Brady pulled down 5 boards in 9 min. Cant wait to see him about 15 lbs heavier next year. - Tanner once again had a couple nice plays that dont show up in the box score.
  10. Ive never had mono or know nothing about it. I would have really liked to have Amir back before Big Ten play (ideally to break him back in against SW Minny). Doesnt look like that will happen tho. Were down to 9 eligible, healthy scholarship players rn.
  11. I can honestly say I was never worried about this one. Not before or at any time during it. It was refreshing.
  12. Good point. I was also thinking bc we play so few games in a long period of time. Maybe the staff is subbing less to keep the guys locked in and in "game shape" ?
  13. Could've have damn near 30 if he wasnt so poor from the charity stripe ??
  14. Hope this is a game where Thor, Costello, and Trueblood each get like 5-10 minutes.
  15. Theyre almost doubling us up on rebounds and hold a 10-2 advantage on off rebounds.
  16. His brother, Aguek, is listed at 225 with San Diego State. So putting on enough size/muscle to play the 4 shouldnt be a problem.
  17. Anybody heard anything about Dachon Burke and how hes adjusting against Big Ten talent in practice? Jervay seems to be legit and Tom Allen is showing us why Kansas offered. If the three mentioned above all start that would be 6'1, 6'3, and 6'4 for 3/5's of the starting lineup. Which seems pretty small for what Tim Miles usually likes to throw out there. That lineup is missing that big gaurd on the wing that Miles likes. Which is why i think Nana or Amir might have a chance to be starters. With either Jervay or Dachon as the 6th man (what a nice 6th man that would be btw).
  18. Hes someone i could see us grabbing late if hes still available and nothing else pans out. I think hes listed at 6'9 and 210-215 rn.
  19. Lots of options and, most exciting, unknowns! Isaiah Roby -> can play 3 4 or 5 Thomas Allen -> 1 2 Nana Akenten -> 3 ~4 Jervay Green -> 1 2 3 Dachon Burke -> 2 3 Thor Thorbjarnarson -> ~2 3 Amir Harris -> 1 2 3 Brady Heiman -> ~4 5 Karrington Davis -> ?2 ?3 Mika Adams-Woods -> 1 Akol Arop -> 3 4 ?* no idea ~* i think they could play that spot but its not ideal or they havent yet. Cant wait to see who else Tim Miles and Co. bring in. GBR
  20. I am one who also likes to look ahead (especially with such long breaks in between games). With all the new pieces, the overseas trip, and coming off our first tourney win, next year will be fun. Brady needs to make a decent jump in the offseason and we need to find a decent/good player that can play both the 4 and 5. I will continue to hammer it home that we need two bigs to fill out this class. I would prefer an immediate impact grad transfer who can play 4 and 5. Plus an additional front court player who we could either RS or have take on a role like Brady is doing currently. But yes, I am excited to see Roby and Tom lead the team next year along with Dachon and Jervay.
