  1. Does he live on the 2nd floor? Just curious.
  2. Yeah and for that matter can we just change the title of all threads to "Everything is awesome"? I'm not remotely suggesting that we shouldn't criticize the program or the coaches or the scheme or the game planning or the recruiting efforts or anything else. Not suggesting even remotely that we should always and forever confine ourselves to only positive and favorable commentary about this team or this program. I'm only suggesting that, during this particular moment in time, when we're waiting for a potential recruit -- one whom we should probalby all agree would be a major coup for this team to land -- to decide which school he will attend, that maybe, just maybe, we shouldn't advertise on this site reasons why this program is shit and recruits would be idiots to sign with us. That's really all I'm saying. As I'm worried and concerned about the decision this kid is about to make and the decision Andrew White is about to make, it concerns me just a little bit to come onto the main page of this site and see a thread that advertises in its headline a "scathing view of Husker hoops." Am I completely off my moorings to worry such things could potentially negatively influence a prospective recruit? If so, I apologize.
  3. Horne moved up from #129. What was Roby's prior ranking? I'm pretty sure he's ranked much higher on Scout.
  4. They've been in on him since the day he could walk. A little (blue)bird told me that Coach Mac was actually present to watch Matthew Hurt's conception. He really loved the form of Mr. Hurt's "shot" so I wouldn't be surprised if Coach Mac comes a-callin'…now that the temporary restraining order has expired. Here's a file photo of him giving Mrs. Hurt some tips during warm-ups: Wasn't it you complaining about use of the word "butthurt" on here not too long ago?
  5. Can we change the title of the thread from "A scathing view" to "A sour grapes view"? I'd hate a prospective recruit to stumble on this site and get turned off on Husker hoops. Granted, that's not likely to happen, but one shouldn't take chances with the prospects of Jordy making his college choice looming on the horizon.
  6. I would have been sitting in a car where I could have watched and photographed. Was raining so hard at one point you would have pictures like you were in a car wash! That's where I usually go to get my storm pictures.
  7. Another of the amazing threads I've gone through was the one where that poor, unfortunate lady from Iowa got drunk at an Iowa-Minnesota football game, wandered into a men's room, and had some dude start getting busy with her in one of the stalls until security were summoned and arrived. Leave it to the Hawkeye faithful to figure out her name, track her down on social media and start posting pictures of her and debating whether they'd "hit it" or not.
  8. Locals are tossing Kim Anderson under the bus for this. Not sure why but hey, it's Misery. Often known as the state of Misery. Just a point of dialect: Down there, they don't say "misery;" they say "miseruh."
  9. I wanted to take a brief respite from the current angst over players leaving/recruits coming in that's affecting both the men's and women's teams right now and recall one of the most amazing threads I've ever seen on any message board anywhere. And this year is actually the 10th anniversary of the story, so it's timely in that sense. I'm doing this from memory so details might be slightly off here and there; however, to the best of my recollection, it went down something like this: Fellow signs up for a new account (1st red flag) on the Texas Longhorn message board (2nd red flag if you know anything about that board) to announce he is a Texas A&M fan (3rd red flag) who lives in Norman, Oklahoma. (4th red flag). Supposedly, his girlfriend (5th red flag) worked for a car dealership in Norman (sure she did) that was owned by a major booster (aren't they all? 6th red flag) and that the OU starting QB whose name he was unsure of (7th red flag) was getting paid to work there but wasn't doing any actual work. And the brand new poster wanted to know if anyone else had heard about this and whether it was a violation of NCAA rules (8th red flag.) Nearly everybody in that thread -- and it was a long thread -- called bullshit on this poor chap. Nice first post. Why are you coming here to talk about OU? If you really had this info, you'd be doing something else with it. Sure, you don't know if this is an NCAA violation. Riiiight. Never seen such a troll try to pull something like this. You think we're going to fall for this bullshit? Wait, wut? A few months later, August 2006, it's announced Bomar won't be returning to the team. OU admits 2 players have been dismissed for violating NCAA rules but won't say who (Bomar.) As it turns out, it was all true: Rhett Bomar really was being paid by the booster-owners of Big Red Auto for work that he didn't actually perform. Amazing. First time posters who seem like they're trolling ... sometimes aren't.
  10. I surely hope they didn't say something stupid like "no."
  11. On the other hand, maybe Link signs his LOI and Jordy doesn't? We zig and he zags? So now it is Gonzaga? See, this is how rumors get started.
  12. On the other hand, maybe Link signs his LOI and Jordy doesn't? We zig and he zags?
  13. Mitch, you usually seem like a decent and well-informed chap. But ignorant people aren't reading the literary works of Ayn Rand. In addition, a couple of years ago I posted a basketball topic that delved into some political issues. One of the posters here got all butthur ... er ... indignant about it and asked me to avoid political commentary as it would tend to cause divisions within the group of fans who should instead be here in unified support of our team. I've honored that request ever since. I'd ask you to do the same.
  14. Kenya was kind of a beast when we got him. Georgetown > Butler? Kenya has some recruiting cred after some of his gets here. If Lewis ends up being the best hire that will say something great about Lewis. Molinari was no slouch when we got him either (even if he catches hell on here), from a reputation in the basketball world. I love the Lewis hire, but from a "where's he at; what's he done" standpoint, I don't have him jumping out as the best hire. Those were strong hires in those circumstances, yes. I'm thinking more along the lines of he played for Bobby Knight at IU and left the school as its all-time leader in assists. How many top coaches were point guards? He's shown stability in his coaching stops and he apparently handled kind of an offensive coordinator role for a Butler team that was consistently in the post-season. Plus, according to Dimes, he's a Recruiter with a capital R. Offensive Xs and Os guy who is a strong recruiter. And he approached Miles about the opening, not the other way around. At first blush to me at least, this looks like a pretty good hire.
  15. With all that we have to offer this kid that aligns with what he says he wants -- playing time, academic support, etc. -- I'm a little befuddled at the fact he continues to set up visits.
  16. Seriously? Must not have overwhelmed him on his visit.
  17. The last they spoke was the day of her hiring press conference? That's only a few days before Natalie asked for a transfer. Wouldn't emotions still be running high that day? What would it hurt if the coach kept in contact with her to see just where she stands periodically? Some kids are really shy the way it is especially in a situation like this and contacting the new staff may be very uncomfortable to them. I would think with someone of Natalie's stature, Coach Amy would at least show her some kind of interest in wanting her to continue playing here by keeping the communication between player and new coach open. I'll be very disappointed if what these two discussed on April 12th is what the coach deemed was the final say! Very troublingi'd be a bit careful here. nat may be shy, but, it wouldn't surprise me if she was very "matter of fact" with coach williams. i would bet nat was really ticked off---more than some may realize and she may have let coach williams know that. coach williams may have left the door open, but, i would be willing to bet she knew at that point no way nat was coming back.just my quick take. That's a lot of maybes and might haves and willing to bets. Your suppositions might not be justified. How's that?my opinion, so what. i still say nat made it very clear during the meeting with coach williams she wasn't going to wear 'N' again. obviously, she wants out. i believe the door was left open to everyone, but, nat chose to close it. her decision. guess we move on. Fine, you still say it. But are you basing your conclusion on anything more than it could have been, it might have been, and its possible?

Why are you assuming all kinds of things that place this kid in a negative light? The implication of your post is that Natalie got all stompy feet when she met with Coach Amy and took her ball and went home. But it's all based on rank speculation. Like I said before, it's based on might haves and maybes and you'd be willing to bets. And you arrive at a conclusion from that? I think we all need to remember it's the adults who screwed the pooch in this whole deal and not the kids.
  19. At first blush, this guy seems like he might be the best assistant hire Miles has made since after he was hired. So much for the rats leaving a sinking ship narrative.
  20. Jojo didn't rev up the hype machine. Someone else did that. Someone who ran him through off-season workouts and who called in a favor from the people at Future150 because it would advance his own cred if one the guys he worked with got big time recruiting attention.
  21. What makes you think Nat didn't want to wear the N? Norm unless she was asked to leave she choose not to at this point. Clearly at one point and time she did, that appears to have changed. I wish her no ill will what so ever. The coach she came to play for is gone, she had every right to find the best fit for her. That said, what she deemed (again unless she was asked to leave) best for her is to not wear the N anymore.I don't think you know that. And it's not what I'm hearing.I can tell you that a door was obviously left open for Cincore, and she's back. It may be that Nat backed the wrong horse. It might have been the case that Nat wasn't extended the same options as Cincore. I'd be willing to bet there's more to this than is being reported publicly.
