  1. Let me just say if that weight is right he really carries it well because he sure doesn't look that heavy, and that's great news as far as I'm concerned.
  2. OKAY THEN KEZO FOR FIFTY-FIVE On 60% shooting, including 12 of 20 from 3-point range. That'd be cool to see. In a Husker uniform.
  3. St. Rita was the high school. AAU was Meanstreets.
  4. Even if this isn't the guy HuskerinKentucky was referencing, I'd still try to get our foot in the door with him. Holy smokes, have you seen his vids?
  5. He's been wrong before, but he's willing to be wrong again... I don't like when people speculate based on some wild-ass presupposition. If there weren't any injuries, Illinois would be a tournament team. And if there wasn't any gravity, I'd be a five-time slam dunk champion Well, no, because if there weren't any gravity, you'd jump and you'd just keep floating until you bounced off of something. I think it's Newton's first law of motion. Anyway, so I could see you winning it once if there wasn't gravity, but after that you'd be waving as you passed Saturn.
  6. I didn't see you'd started another thread. I thought I was getting a "take it to another thread" lecture.
  7. That would be quite the coup, wouldn't it?Kid wants to go where he can play. We're proven for providing transfers with good opportunities.Well, let's ask. In a separate thread.Oh, I thought this was the 2016 transfer thread. My bad.

  9. Everything I've seen of Charles Matthews, they call him a shooting guard.
  10. Hey, maybe this Matthews kid from Kentucky is the "great news on a transfer" that KentuckyHusker was talking about a month or so ago?
  11. Also, we'll have Arop next year. He might be 6-6 but he's certainly a 2. We have currently 2 openings for 2017-18, when non-grad transfers are eligible. A post player and a guard seem like a good fit. I'd actually flip the two. To me, there's no question this Kentucky transfer is a 2 and I'd call Arop more of a 3, based on what I've heard.
  12. Also, we'll have Arop next year. He might be 6-6 but he's certainly a 2. We have currently 2 openings for 2017-18, when non-grad transfers are eligible. A post player and a guard seem like a good fit. Sure, I'll explain. This is in response to Minnesota and also Dimes. I've been saying for awhile that we're a guard short. I've been thinking, ideally, we find a rising sophomore transfer shooting guard for that last spot. Here's why: Right now, if everyone comes back who hasn't already announced they're transferring, then this coming season, we'll have ... Guards: Webster, Gill, Watson, (Palmer RS) Wings: White, McVeigh, Roby, Fuller PFs: Morrow, Horne Cs: Jacobson, Tshimanga That group has adequate depth at all positions for next season. Thin at the guard spot, but adequate depth. Miles says you are what you guard. I see Roby, based on his film, as a 3. In truth, Palmer might be more of a 3. From what I've heard about Arop, it sounds to me like he might actually be more of a 3 than a 2. I see the Kentucky transfer, based on his film, as a 2. If that's the case, then the year after this coming season, this is what we'll look like: Guards: Gill, Watson, Palmer Wings: McVeigh, Roby, Arop, Fuller PFs: Morrow, Horne Cs: Jacobson, Tshimanga We're still thin at shooting guard the year Palmer becomes eligible. We're thin at guard, period. We'd have two more spots to fill for the 2017-18 roster and I'd add another big and another guard. I see this Kentucky kid as a guard. If we can land him, I'd go for it.
  13. Normy confused, too. And, likely, I am as well. Nope, not me. I don't think Silver is either.
  14. Oh, I had thought the 6'11 240 was for Hammond. The post was dated Nov. 12, 2015. Kind of confusing, Normy. You said to add 30 pounds for Jordy. I was saying I think Jordy is actually more like 240# and not 270#. I realize the UNL website lists him at 270# but I don't think he's really that heavy. Like I said above, yesterday the OWH had him at 270# in their stories on him but then, at some point, they changed it to 240#. I don't know why they changed it. They must have done so because they believed the lower number was more accurate. From what I've seen, I would tend to agree that the lower number is probably more accurate.
  15. So we are just believing the world herald now? I've seen listed weights of 235, 240, 245, 260, and 270 in various places throughout the recruiting process. The official roster on huskers.com lists 6-11 and 270. Do you think we weighed him before they slapped a weight on there? Is there any advantage to listing him at 270 if he's only 240? I know heights are sometimes fudged but it doesn't really matter at this point because the training staff will probably be redistributing his weight anyway. No, I'm just saying the OWH started out calling him 270# yesterday and then I did some checking around and found other places listing him much lighter after his major weight loss. So, when I went back to check the OWH, they had changed the story to show 240# instead of 270#. They edited the story to reflect a lighter weight. I'm not sure why they did so, but they did. For whatever reason. And 240# seems more consistent with what he looks like and what I've understood otherwise, so it made sense to me.
  16. He even looks like Andrew White. And 3 years to play. Hard to say no to a kid like that, but think Palmer fits that role.... 6'6 wing is something we have had no problem attracting... Not sure if it fits with what we have and needs wise. EDIT: He was the # 2 kid from Illinois.... Just so happens we already go the #3(Glynn) and #5(Ed) that year... Might as well get the #2. We didnt seem to have interest the first time around so doubt this goes anywhere but would assume Glynn and Ed might know him. Are you kidding me? Yes, this would fit a big need. He's a 2-guard/wing. If White and Webster return for their senior seasons, we'll be losing two players at that position after next year (during which this guy is redshirting). It's a position we're already thin at even with the addition of Palmer. Palmer would come in with 2 years to play and this could would have 3. It would be as though he was a part of the Jordy, Jeriah, Isaiah class which would give us a guard in that class. I would go very hard after this kid if there was a chance we could reel him in.
  17. Do we want to get involved in the Derryck Thornton sweepstakes? http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/3913175/derryck-thornton
  18. The World Herald changed their stories yesterday and went from listing him at 270# to listing him at 240#, which was more in line with what I had thought, based on his weight loss and body transformation.
  19. Yeah, that makes sense. Did his dad not watch enough film of Oklahoma before they committed? Maybe they should have read what Buddy Hield said about working hard and trusting your coaches.
  20. I am quite certain we have it in us. Unfortunately, there are two threads. We'll need to combine them so we aren't dividing our efforts and doing twice as much work.
  21. Just want to be the first to point out that we blew the 40 page curse all to hell with this one. Morrow only ended the 20 and 30 page curses (page 31 of his thread when he committed.) This is positively uncharted territory. Yay us!
