This is where HHC is looking at the same thing two different ways. The home games are needed not go “get in” or avoid “getting bumped” from the tourney. They are simply needed because 3-3 is the minimum to get in the field of 68. Everyone is saying we need 3-5 wins. Some of this is human. So if you’re a gambler, you might be ok with 3-3 and hopefully a good win in the conference tournament. But if you want to be safe, better get 4 or 5. These home games are as important as anything. Get the three and you at least have a chance. Drop one and the panic button is alarmed.

So Michigan State will stay ahead of us if they finish off Illinois. I did want the double bye (least resistance to a championship haha). But maybe Michigan state finally has their mojo. We play both teams once so minimal impact, but I can’t help myself from looking at the standings.

Nebraska and K State resumes are close imo. 5-2 gets it done (probably) for Nebraska which involves 4-0 at home and finding one on the road. But these road games aren’t northwestern, Wisconsin, or even Minnesota. It can be done. Jmo

From my view, Dayton is 19-3 and ranked 19th at 15-8 VCU. I’d hate to see VCU get a quad one win. A home loss sounds like it can only help us as Dayton is solidly in? Tim’s San Jose State 8-15 is at 18-5 Colorado State. Would like to see SJSU win this for a couple reasons. Where am I off?

Watching k state struggle to put away Kansas. There’s definitely a scenario they don’t make the tournament. I don’t know what the scenario is. But I’m starting to get conflicted on who to root for.

I agree with this. The only remaining road games I think NU has a good shot would be Michigan or Ohio State. Today could easily be the start of a 1-3 stretch. If I’m right, we may have work to do in the big ten conference tournament. Maybe you need to take my cousin to more games!

The last time I drove home from Indianapolis sucked bad. Ugh. For that reason alone I don’t want to go there. I went to bed depressed and my buddies stayed up and played the Taylor run and Kenny block for a half hour straight. The loss and the impending drive home did me in.

Let’s start with the basics. Win one. If Nebraska finishes with 25 wins but won one game in the tournament, would the season be a success? But I agree norm. Let’s keep winning past that and knock out Creighton

I think the goal for this team is basically win out at home, one loss but probably no more than two…and win 1/3 of the roadies. if we finish 8-7, we’d be 21-10 and 11-9. But our non con was bad. So like Robin said, need to get into the low 20s this year. 8-7 is basically no road wins you know? Why can’t these guys go 9-6 or 10-5? That’s the ultimate goal I think. This team is different.

That’s just what progress is though. If Fred has post season success from here on, it’ll be stated be built it from scratch. Record his first 3 seasons, and records season 5 and on, will be split screen comparisons at every marquee game. You don’t succeed a Nebraska basketball coach who was fired and have instant success. It just doesn’t happen.
