  1. what? jordan is not alone in this treatment. they only call the most obvious violations
  2. Kareem is perhaps a victim of his era. His best years were the 70's when a lot of talent was in the ABA.He actually missed the playoffs more than once with the Bucks. He also never won a championship without Oscar Robertson or Magic, but then again most championship teams have two or more great players. Who is better in your mind, Kareem or Bill Russell?
  3. I second the comments that Simmons and Lebron would be horrible on the court together. You would need to move Lebron off the ball (lol) because Simmons is no threat to score outside of 12 feet. Now, Lebron to rockets, that would be real juicy. I doubt he leaves the East though, he is a proven pragmatist
  4. you can't ask brad to abandon one of his main philosophies - shoot when open - during the last game of the season. at the same time, he can't make the ball go in the hoop. rozier and brown shot a combined 3-22 from 3pt range. that is why the celtics lost.
  5. i really want lebron to not go back to the finals. hard for me to explain why since I like him as a player and person. i am just getting tired of watching him play.
  6. Marquette board saying Ed will get 20-25 minutes. Saying that his physicality and rebounding is exactly what the roster is lacking. Also did not see anything about prolonged health concerns
  7. why should he have been a four? i may not know what im talking about, but I never saw ed flash any legit offensive skills. He had an average face up game, to me that was it. Obviously his contributions on defense were a lot more evident. But when someone is so raw offensively, it only makes sense you want to hide them under the basket. Ed's problem is that he's closer to a small forward than a center in terms of size - even for the modern college game. He reminds me of Cliff Alexander of KU from a few years ago. Very strong, athletic big man who is giving up 2-3+ inches at the position that most matches their skillset. I will be interested to see his game at Marquette.
  8. very awkward, why do recruits do this? edit: and why do hack writers like barfknecht encourage it?
  9. casey not adjusting to love's explosion in game 2 might have singlehandedly cost him his job. He's a good coach by NBA standards, but you can't blame the raptors for wanting to go further in the playoffs at some point
  10. when I saw wingett at the state tournament he didn't look good enough to play at nebraska or creighton. that was in 2016 though, and just my opinion
  11. with creighton looking at three spots open this fall, I wouldn't have minded our coaches reaching out to teddy. I know he's ancient for his class - but any true frosh at a P5 school with multiple 20pt outings will probably add something to your roster down the road. unless the character issues surrounding teddy were so staggering that he could have introduced a toxic element to the locker room (reading WVU boards it does not seem like this was the case). I do think he will be an amazing fit for Gregg Marshall - they have a knack for picking out these guys that others have concerns about and maximizing their potential. that's not a knock on their program, but a compliment, and I would imagine teddy will turn out to be a very good AAC player. best of luck to him!
  12. i knew stevens should never be doubted when he got a celtics team to the playoffs with evan turner (!!!) as the primary scoring threat
  13. auburn, arkansas, wichita state, nc state, and memphis getting involved. did not find anything saying he'd been offered by these schools. apparently a lot of schools took notice last weekend.
  14. i wonder what role the ncaa plays in this investigation going forward. give the fbi any and all information and just step aside?
  15. He may not be exaggerating. Its becoming more obvious with each class that certain players are overlooked and criminally underrated by the scouting system. Part of me wants to think it has to do with the money. Obviously, talent is the biggest factor, but widespread exposure (and subsequently, high ratings in the services) may be something that only certain types of players (or families) receive. edit: still think Xavier is an incredible addition for you guys next year. It will be interesting to see which of your guards get how many minutes.
  16. I will be in attendance today...grabbed a pair of tickets and going with an old friend. Looking forward to seeing your squad in person
  17. he looks like a smaller john wall. huge pickup, credit to your guys' staff
  18. i'm getting more and more down on joseph. he looked clunky in summer league, good athlete but not a good enough ball handler to utilize it. and now he's a month behind learning the system due to this hamstring issue. he will get minutes at PG because we have no other choice, but the best move for mac over the course of the season might be to give a majority of PG minutes to khyri and run with foster/mintz/mitch ballock/ty-shon alexander on the wing. weird to me as CU fan that we don't have a true pg. There's been a consistent chain of successors for quite some time now.
  19. referring to the raid on andy miller's office or something more? I just saw that on twitter
  20. fair enough. I don't really see us being big enough to swing deals with adidas or nike. UA, I could see it
  21. Patton really doesn't seem relevant to the discussion. If he signed for the sake of money, why didn't he go elsewhere (a football school) that could have easily offered more. That doesn't add up to me.
  22. i'd be interested if it ever came out how the amount of $$$ involved in a deal for a player correlates to their national ranking. i'd guess that at a certain threshold of talent, the 'extra money' in the equation drops off significantly or completely disappears. it would then stand to reason that the schools that have the most to worry about are those which, year in and year out, pick from a highly exclusive pool of potential nba first rounders (the players that end up netting a ton of money for everyone involved in the deal)....how much does the 70th best player stand to receive in a bribe, compared to the 15th best? i doubt darian devries or steve merfeld involved themselves in this type of nonsense. Preston Murphy, I could see it just because of how connected he is to a lot of AAU programs on the east coast. Is the AAU culture to blame? Or the shoe companies that encourage these deals to get done? regardless, its been established for awhile that blue bloods were, directly or indirectly, offering their players a little extra. I wouldn't put it past the majority of power conf. schools to have engaged in at least one of these deals in the past
  23. your timeline on Bowen's recruiting process is mixed up. He never released a final list, MSU and Creighton were technically involved until he committed to Louisville. "Suddenly killing it"? What do you mean by this. We have upgraded our talent level after moving to a basketball power conference with more national exposure?
