2022 PF Jasen Green -> Creighton

That is Jaren Marshall, the son of Creighton Prep and NC State alumnus Curtis Marshall. He's at Omaha Burke and will start for them at the point next season. He's probably the third best guard prospect in that class at this stage behind Hepburn and Preston Murphy Jr. He's got a ways to go but the upside is very real. H's played alongside Chucky and Jasen for years. This 2021 class is loaded with quality point/combo-guards. They won't all be D-I guys, but they're going to have really good high school careers.2 points -

Football redshirt and transfer rules

We have gotten so far away from what School Sports probably should be....i think when they first started interscholastic competition...we just expected kids to represent the schools at which they were studying and if they happened to transfer to another school to pursue their studying, they would just represent that school. I know we are no longer in that era, but it's kind of too bad.....1 point -

Creighton Cobra Kai

Sign me up for guys like Aaron Craft....not a fan of Grayson Allen, but that probably has more to do with the name on the front of his jersey.1 point -
Creighton Cobra Kai

Those guys had talent though. Gibbs didn’t. Plus, he was like 35 years old. There’s also the North Carolina dirty play along with countless others. The fact that he played for Creighton probably made it worse, but if he played for North Dakota State, he would have still been one of the biggest delta bravos to play D1 around that time period.1 point -
I think the football team works against your basketball team in some ways. People see NU football as a separate entity from the rest of the NU athletic department because of the strength of its brand and its history. Anyone who lives in nebraska has license to cheer for them, sort of thing. On the flip side, most jayskers I've met grew up in Omaha and they feel the same way about Creighton basketball, identifying with the program as an Omahan. I do agree though, its always unsettling when you meet people who root for/financially support the NU football program, then root for Creighton basketball and treat NU basketball as a verbal punching bag. It might be so prominent because Omaha is the major population center of the state, but a large portion of UNL students come from Omaha. A weird duality that I have never really had to confront because I think football is very boring.1 point

Your scenario explains certain Omaha people liking Creighton hoops Not the hate and d-bag actions toward Husker hoops, when they choose to support the home state football team. Screw the sweater vests; got no use for 'em. My favorite basketball team other than the Huskers is whoever plays Creighton, and usually whoever plays Iowa.1 point -

I'm aware I'm in the minority on this opinion and always have been...but I've honestly never cared if you like the football team but not the basketball team because who am I to say who you can or can't root for? I don't agree with it, but I don't care if you do it. Maybe it's because I'm around a lot of fans here in Omaha that do just that. Grew up going to Husker football games, but Creighton bball games instead of Husker bball games. A lot of grade schools (especially parochial schools) here in Omaha give out free Creighton tickets to students and it makes them grow up liking Creighton bball. Are they just supposed to flip the switch and hate them if they also like the football team, or end up attending UNL? Again...I don't agree with it...but I can understand why it happens.1 point -

Seems to me that Williams needs to focus on getting basketball players in the 500 mile radius of Lincoln where there are plenty good players!! Chasing down players from around the world and the costs associated with that does not fit in with a program that does not breakeven!!!-1 points
