  1. Dean Smith

    Morrow leaving

Whose minutes would they have taken? Ed was better than MJ so I see Jacobson sitting nest to Jack by the end of the season. Ed takes Jordy's minutes, Jordy transfers and Ed is still not happy with playing time so he probably transfers after this season if Copeland comes back. Maybe the more likely scenario would have been MJ is still sitting on the end of the bench so either way Michael transfers at the end of this last season but Ed also takes minutes from Roby, thus delaying his development and Ed is still not happy because he is still playing the 5. Ed's ceiling is nowhere near Roby's so that hurts us in the long run. Hindsight is 20/20 but I think the two of them leaving was what was best for them and the NU program.

  2. It depends on how he would be used, in my opinion. If he doesn't put on 20lbs of muscle, he'll get broken in the post. If Copeland is back, I would assume Heiman redshirts and does nothing but gain weight. If not, I still think he will be a pleasant surprise. Give him time though and I think he'll be a heck of a player. For a comparison, see Frank Kaminsky's production at Wisconsin. Their HS films/skillsets/size are pretty similar. 6'10", 220lbs. Mostly mid-major offers except for Wisconsin who saw a worthwhile project. Also, Brady is a very good and willing passer and plays well within the offense. There's a lot to work with.

  7. Either way, you don't want to do a Google search for either. The unintended results may burn your eyes.

  11. Maybe I'm off base, but baseball seems like the B1G men's sport where we should be what Ohio State is to football, or Michigan State is to basketball - obviously not expecting the national success. But with our support, history (in relation to the rest of the B1G), and facilities - whoever wants to win the B1G should expect to come through Lincoln to win the title. Sitting at home when the B1G tournament is in Omaha is just so deflating. Not to mention when it has been in Omaha, Iowa seems to benefit more so than Nebraska.

  12. I think it is accurate and fair to say that that simply isn't good enough. This administration and program needs to expect better.

Really liked ED, but.........He is not better than Copeland or Roby. Jacobson is not better than them either, in fact, Jordy is a better fit with Roby and Copeland than Jocobson and Morrow ever were. The truth is that those two knew they would get limited minutes. IF Marquette and Iowa State are NCAA caliber teams than both Morrow and Jacobsen will be bench players with the same roles they would have had at Nebraska had they stayed.

  15. Anyone else find it kinda funny that San Diego State may pull what were once two of the most promising players from the state in Arop and Chang? Nebraska isn't the San Diego of the B1G so much as San Diego State is the Nebraska of the Mountain West.

  16. If he can combine a Fosbury Flop with a dunk it will be most impressive indeed.

http://www.omaha.com/huskers/plus/nebraska-women-s-basketball-coach-amy-williams-a-d-bill/article_32197005-32e5-5dcb-973f-741dc730ff2b.html?utm_medium=social&utm_source=email&utm_campaign=user-share LINCOLN — Nebraska women’s basketball coach Amy Williams and Athletic Director Bill Moos are in sync on the program’s future, Williams said in a recent interview. Williams met with Moos April 9 for a sitdown following the Huskers’ surprising turnaround season that resulted in a NCAA tournament bid. An extension on Williams’ contract — which currently runs through the 2022 season — and extensions on her assistants’ contracts (which run through 2019) should come at a later date. “We’re completely on the same page with the way things should work and the way things are working,” Williams said last week. “He’s genuinely as excited as we are about the direction of our program. All of those things make me feel awesome.” After a 7-22 season in Williams’ first year, the Huskers finished 21-11 overall and 11-5 in the Big Ten. Nebraska swept rival Iowa. Williams won Big Ten coach of the year as the team earned a No. 10 seed in the NCAA tournament. The 73-62 loss to Arizona State — in which Nebraska was badly outrebounded — still stings Williams and the team. “They got a taste of the NCAA tournament, but they’re not satisfied with that,” Williams said. “It created more of a hunger. That was a fun ride, and we enjoyed being there, but now that we got a taste of that, we want more. It’s incredible how that works. We feel like we could have put a better performance together in that game.” With a couple weeks remaining in the academic semester, Williams said she doesn’t expect any players to transfer to other schools. A few are examining their options from a “health or academics” perspective, though, including forward Rachel Blackburn, who continues to battle chronic knee pain. Blackburn averaged 1.5 points and 1.9 rebounds last season in 29 games off the bench. “There’s just some question marks in the evaluation there that her family will go through,” Williams said. “We’re just going to support her no matter what.” Notes » Nebraska would consider adding another signee to the 2018 class if it finds “the right fit,” Williams said. NU is thin in the post, especially if Blackburn chooses to retire. » Women’s basketball coaches have one more evaluation period this weekend. NU will also host a 2019 prospect, so Williams plans to split her staff to accommodate both tasks. The next evaluation periods aren’t until July 6-12 and July 23-29, after which teams usually schedule official visits during football games in preparation for the fall signing period. » Incoming freshmen Leigha Brown, Sam Haiby, Kayla Mershon and Ashtyn Vanderbeek are set to arrive the first weekend in June in time for summer classes.
