  1. How many of these extra tourney spots does Syracuse get?

  2. I'd be happy if we picked him up. High ceiling. Serviceable 3pt shooter and good height. Coaches will have to break him down to get him to do anything else, but I think he's worth it.

If this were accurate, he’d have played the 4 here. But he didn’t. And he wasn’t going to. And the coaches weren’t just being stubborn. But time and a new opportunity will tell.

He should've been a 4 the entire time he was here, and he would've been a great one. I thought he was justified in leaving and I still wish we had him. MJ? Meh.

  7. "Should come back" as in he thinks they won't get drafted. Here's the article from ESPN: http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/23532529/nba-draft-biggest-remaining-decisions-early-entry-players

  8. I definitely don't think our issues stem from it being a Nebraska problem. Many were concerned with Erstad having zero recruiting connections when hired and I think that has come to rear its ugly head. To top it off, Erstad has zero experience in managing a program. While he was a great ballplayer and a year removed from the majors Erstad said so himself...he would need to surround himself with great recruiters and unfortunately the main guy he hired and has leaned on (Silva) has turned out to be a dud. It looked like a great hire initially but it has not panned out and it sounds as if Silva has rubbed quite a few people the wrong way. I think Nebraska still has everything in place to be the premier baseball program in the Midwest. Whether Moos cares enough remains to be seen. I've said it before, but the guy who should have had the job is currently recognized as one of the best recruiters in the nation and moving right along with A&M. I think he would still be VERY interested in this job if it were to come open. Osborne hired Erstad knowing that he would likely be a lifer and would not leave the program for greener pastures. That's nice if its working out...but, it hasn't worked out in the first seven years. In the end, we probably have to hope Erstad has some sort of itch to get back to the majors or Erstad quickly figures out how to replenish the program with talent.

  9. I’d like to see the type of canidate we could pull if we actually did a national search. I think people would be shocked at the type of coach we could get here, given the effort. Lemonis to Indiana, Was to Purdue, Heller to Iowa - we have more to offer than any of those programs and they all made very impressive hires.

    He'd need a 2nd redshirt year.

  11. No doubt. He's the kind of coach who can beat you with his team, and if he coached the opposing team, he'd beat you with them too. He hasn't got a title yet, but what he's done in Boston, with average to good rosters, at his age, with only NCAA exp, is remarkable. The NBA has changed A LOT in the past decade. Old school fans who haven't kept abreast of the revolution likely have no idea what they are seeing. The disconnect between new/old ways of analyzing and understanding the game among some of the people broadcasting basketball is painfully obvious. Same thing happened in MLB. I recall Joe Morgan being about as out of touch as Shaq and Barkley. Although, today, most of the major network MLB coverage has gotten much better. Same thing will happen in NBA, but it definitely takes time.

  13. With Wilk and Scott gone after this year, I'd have to be convinced we're in a better place than we we're when Anderson left. Also this team will probably finish this season with a worse record than Anderson's worst team.

  14. Possible replacement for Anton Gill’s minutes. We are probably waiting for word from copeland and palmer before we commit to a grad transfer. Right?

  15. Nebraska with one of the worst hit & runs I've ever seen. 3-2 Illini. They have 3 runs on 2 hits, we have 2 runs on 6 hits.

  20. I am all for this, and traveling and palming and all the other rules that officials have gotten to lazy to call OR been told they will not work by coaches (true story at high school level) if they call them.

  21. I am not sure all those changes will improve the college game. For example, perhaps instead of widening the lane, they could instead enforce the current 3-second rule???

Holy mixed metaphor, Batman! Either of the following would be acceptable substitutes: "we're not out of the woods yet" "we're not in the clear yet" This concludes the @49r moment of pedantry for today! ?

I think his legs got tired at the end of the year, that injury was more than he thought it would be by season's end.
