  1. Last 7 games in the eyes of bracketologists: Nebraska wins...."Yeah, whatever." Nebraska wins...."Yeah, whatever." Nebraska wins...."Yeah, ok." Nebraska wins...."Ok, fine." Nebraska wins...."Uh huh, whatever." Nebraska wins...."Yeah, fine." Nebraska loses...."WELL, SEE? CLEARLY THEY'RE NO GOOD. I KNEW IT ALL ALONG. THEY'RE NOT EVEN A BUBBLE TEAM."

  2. What the heck are you talking about? It's ok to admit that they have a good program. They were impressively able to get out of the MVC and into the Big East. And then you're jumping all over the guy who's running the HHCC contest. This last month on here is going to put everyone on edge. Everyone try to keep their chill, ok?

    What If? Play-in game

Any NCAA win counts in my book, but let’s take care of Illinois first.

  8. This is a list of the tournament since it started : 1939–1950: 8 teams 1951–1952: 16 teams 1953–1974: varied between 22 and 25 teams 1975–1978: 32 teams 1979: 40 teams 1980–1982: 48 teams 1983: 52 teams (four play-in games before the tournament) 1984: 53 teams (five play-in games before the tournament) 1985–2000: 64 teams 2001–2010: 65 teams 2011–present: 68 teams I would think that all those teams from 53-84 all thought any game they won counted as a win in the tournament.

  10. Here's the place all you suicidal Husker basketball fans can come and get reassurance everything is fine. The loss to Illinois is not catastrophic, it actually could be a positive for a few reasons. No more pressure on the team to continue a winning streak. No more reason to give a crap about what Joe Lunardi thinks. Yes! Fans these next two games in the PBA will blow the roof off the arena. We win at least 2 games in the NCAA Tourney this year. Why?

  11. Although it's pretty basic, one of my go-to stats to judge offensive efficiency has always been points per field goal attempt. It combines effective field goal percentage with getting to the FT line (and making them). James Palmer is averaging 1.45 points per field goal attempt. Here is the same metric for our prior scoring leaders: 2017: Tai Webster - 1.21 2016: Shavon Shields - 1.31 2015: Terran Petteway - 1.21 2014: Terran Petteway - 1.36 2013: Dylan Talley - 1.05 2012: Bo Spencer - 1.24 2011: Lance Jeter - 1.37 2010: Ryan Anderson - 1.36 2009: Ade Dagunduro - 1.45 So you have to go back to 2009 to find the last time our scoring leader has matched what James is doing, and Ade did it on only 13 points per game (doing it on 18 points per game is of course more impressive). Next, Isaiah Roby is averaging 1.63 points per field goal attempt. This is an incredible number to average throughout a season. When I get more time I'll try to go back and find the last time we had a meaningful contributor average this man points per FG attempt throughout a season. I would venture to say that it has been awhile.

  12. Killer loss. Can live with Illinois making circus shots and 3s they haven't showed the capability of making, but pretty frustrating to watch Nebraska make mistake after mistake down the stretch and fail to build on that 5-point lead midway through the second half.

  26. I watched a documentary on full time professional sports betters in the vegas area, and they are betting such absurd amounts of money that they are intentionally moving the line. In theory, they will bet $200,000 early and move the line. Vegas then will move the lines to try and get the money to be bet equally on both sides. Then right before the game They will hammer the team they think will win $1,000,000. I'm not necessarily saying this is the case, but it's definitely possible. I think smart betters are starting to figure out the system, and in Vegas I have to assume there isn't so much money on the Nebraska game where it's that hard to change the line.

  27. If anything, this team should come out and play mad as hell against everyone left on our schedule. Because they are not getting the respect they deserve and the respect they have earned!

  31. Not a great day in terms of us having bones thrown our way, just means we have to earn our way ourselves. Gotta make em believe. Keep the faith. We are oh so close. Tomorrow is a fun day for basketball in our conference. Let's embrace it. GBR.

  37. The KU game was a big game, and the crowd was hyped. The atmosphere was great. I am not big in comparing it to any other game, but I liked the outcome of the no-sit Wisconsin game much more. When that game was over the atmosphere was like a fog, it lingered over the arena, the haymarket and surrounding space for quite some time.

    Now What?

I truly hope fans have enjoyed this season. I’m usually really disappointed about games like this. However we have a 20 win team on our hands who can beat anyone in the league. Fellas... don’t get so caught up in NCAA or bust that you forget to enjoy life a little.

  40. Took 52-47 lead with just over 10 minutes left and Illinois had only scored 4 points to that point in 2nd half. Huskers had numerous chances to build big lead but poor shot selection and turnovers kept us from building on that lead. Kept hollering at tv to switch to a zone late in 1st half since they were tearing up the man to man.

  41. Man I love those 3 celebrations. Heheh. Glad to see we dug out of that dumb hole, this is a huge confidence boost. Have some problems, but problems to fix but if we can build a lead, or not...just win. But man... Illinois is sneaky scary. I think we all knew that coming in

  44. Since the committee loves to look at things in quadrants, here's a look at how awful the Big Ten is doing in the Top 25 rankings by quadrant (Top 25 split into fourths): Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 Total Big Ten 2 1 0 1 4 Big East 2 0 0 0 2 ACC 1 2 1 0 4 AAC 1 0 0 1 2 Big 12 0 1 1 2 4 SEC 0 1 1 1 3 WCC 0 1 1 0 2 Pac-12 0 0 1 1 2 A10 0 0 1 0 1 MWC 0 0 0 1 1 Total 6 6 6 7 25 Too bad this conference is garbage being tied with the most Q1 teams, tied with the most Q1+Q2 teams, 1 of 4 conferences with any Q1 teams, and tied with the most overall ranked teams. Take away the RPI system and we look like a pretty strong conference.

    The Big Ten is Down

I for one am quite tired of the "B1G is down" narrative. While it's possible the conference may not be as good in comparison to past years, this story has been pushed out repeatedly by the national media until it became "truth". Nearly everyone now just accepts it as fact. @cipsucks is right...all the Huskers can do is keep winning.
