    How did we lose

Tom Eades. The answer to that question is always Tom Eades.

  3. Through the first half of league play, we’ll have played all the top 5 and won’t see any of them again.

    How did we lose

1st true road game and 4th overall game for a team that started less than 3 players who have played more than a few games together. St John’s was a lot more experienced than us at the time. They were also a lot more veteran than we were in terms of minutes played together. They’ve lost a few key players. We have not. That always helps later on. They also have played a pretty decent conference schedule. We were a very young and inexperienced team in terms of time together when we played them. We have grown up a lot in the past few months and it is showing. It’s easy to explain that and the UCF loss away if you look at it.

  5. If the refs let Rutgers get away with thier usual S&*(, it will be a long game. Hope they call a close game on them.

  6. I took that as more of a compliment to Jack than anything. I took that as a “I don’t consider you someone that I put in during scrub time. You have a role on this team and it isn’t in the last minute of a blowout.”

The most impressive thing on the stat line was 14/14 on FT's.

  8. Rutgers is 12-0 at home. holding opponents to an average of 50.25 ppg while Rutgers averages 69.4 ppg at home. Rutgers averages 12 steals per game. opponents average 21.1 turnovers = 22.6 points for Rutgers. opponents average 12.2 points off of Rutgers turnovers. rebounding, Rutgers is a +1.6 against opponents. Rutgers isn't a prolific 3pt shooting team. Carey is shooting .444, but, she is 8-18 so doesn't shoot a lot of them. Scaife is shooting .333 beyond the perimeter---so is Cryer. Greene shoots .371 from beyond the perimeter, but, only averages 5.6 ppg. Husker defense must have another good showing. it's possible Rutgers shoots lights out and runs like crazy on the huskers (difficult to predict which Rutgers offense shows up), but, i am thinking the winner will be in the low 60's. a game where huskers will need to limit turnovers and Rutgers steals.

    Road to 20

We are in a few "next 4 outs." Then we are in most "in the mix" "others considered" "next 20" etc. However most don't do past the first or next 4 out. Me thinks a win on Monday would bump us up there to first and next 4 out.

At the beginning of the season, people said this Nebraska team could be one you wouldn't want to play in February or March. They forgot about January.

  12. Thanks for Starting this Thread Whoop! This is a particularly important game. Winning will 'Double' the wins of last season (as Sam predicts) AND extend the consecutive number of road wins to Eight! The Scarlet Knights will be particularly tough Tomorrow After losing in such fashion to Penn State! (But I think Amy's Husker Raider's are up to Rutger's brand of 'Street-Ball;' and may be even a little tougher.) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "You won't believe how the Rutgers women's basketball team lost to Penn State" http://www.nj.com/rutgerswomen/index.ssf/2018/01/you_wont_believe_how_the_rutgers_womens_basketball.html If any of this feels like 'Déjà vu,' this is from the game stats for the Husker's loss to Michigan. Spot any familiar names? Coincidence? Edit: Thanks Bugeaters. I didn't know how to find out who made the call (but I was pretty sure you might know).

    How did we lose

It is easy to look back and think what if...what if we beat St. John's, Central Florida and KU. We can only imagine. Oh, and add Penn State to my angst.

    Ohio State

Didn’t think I’d say this 8 games into conference season this year, but we certainly have the looks of a top 6 team. 100%. We also can be a top 4 team if we play like it. My goodness after Monday, no matter the outcome, the team could and probably should win every game left on the schedule.

I just went through the majority of brackets on bracket matrix to see if they've been updated (bracket matrix itself hasn't been updated since 1/17, so before the Michigan win). For those brackets that had been updated since then, a couple had us in the "next four out" territory, but most still no mention.

I will say that I don't think that this team is a one and done on tournament weekend either. I think we have the horses this year to actually complete and not get tired after playing so many games in so many days. Now as much as I would love getting a double bye, I think this team could get an extra win if we just get the single bye. However, we also have the horses to win the whole damn thing as well so let's just go ahead and do that. But first.... Ohio State!

  33. Lets hope that you don't have to wait this long to see a team as good as you watched last night. They looked great last night (and the team listed was pretty dang salty).

  34. I'm sorry, are you talking about Mo Vog-ner or Mo Wag-ner? It's possible Mo Vog-ner might return, but I think Mo Wag-ner is done for the season. Chronic butt-hurt is usually a 6-8 week recovery.

  35. And, don't forget Mo Wagner, whose feelings were hurt last night...........

  36. I like this...a lot: “We have a few teams in this league who are really elite, and they’re one of those teams that is growing leaps and bounds every single day. Who goes to Northwestern and beats them like that? They’re good. They beat Minnesota when Minnesota had everybody. They’re good, all right? Nebraska is good.” John Beilein
