General Consensus on their message boards... 1. They don't think this is going to be a blowout. A few posters are worried about the game while most state something to the effect of "We should be alright if we play well, but if we don't Nebraska is a team that can and will beat us." 2. They really like Tim. I saw a few posters say that he is "Their favorite Big 10 coach next to coach B at MU. 3. They are happy that we didn't lose on Monday. They thought we would come out with more intensity had we lost.3 points

Man if a game is going to come where Glynn, Palmer, and Copeland are all on their game, tonight would be one hell of a night for that game to come. The Vault needs to be rocking. I've been amped up all day. Still 6 hours til tip off and I'm ready for some Can You Feel It and DMX. Let's do this.3 points -

I think our defense is there to keep Michigan in check. I think the key is whether or not we can minimally get the same sort of offensive output we had vs Minnesota.3 points -

The strategy to me is switching everything in my opinion. Roby, Copeland, Palmer, Taylor, Duby, should all be able to survive switches, and do your best to keep Glynn off bigs for too long.3 points -

If there's a change that requires savvy recruiting adjustments and a dogfight for talent, I like having Miles in our corner, especially because he now has a truly bonafide record for changing the career trajectories of transfers and giving them a B1G stage (Petteway, Pitchford, Palmer, Copeland, AWIII, Gill, Taylor).2 points -

That's a guy I totally don't get. Husker grad, former Husker play-by-play guy, and now a total Creighton Homer doing broadcast for their bball team...makes me sick! And he totally tries to be Kevin Kugler, yet isn't even remotely close. That show died once Kugler and S'vere left.2 points -
If he starts it would be Vunderful but also a bit Tshiocking.2 points

Step by step we are improving in most areas especially on defense. We are hitting one milestone after another. This basically happens when you have a good coaching staff and all the players are dedicated. A win in the previous game against Michigan would have put us in a 4 way tie for first in the conference. Who knows where we will end up. They are certainly fun to watch. All this from a very young team. Still no love from Jeff Sagarin in his ratings. 69th with Indiana and their losing record 68. Go figure.2 points

When Matt was able to talk it sounded like Darrien had a good game in expanded minutes, especially defensively. 2 assists; no turnovers. Good for her; hope it continues.2 points

We just got outboarded 46-29 by Illinois. He may not play, but a 6-11 guy in the middle for 10-15 minutes would help.2 points

Yep. They want to go 4-1 in their next 5. We are the next hardest game to their game Purdue. Only a 60% chance of a MU win according to wherever they pull their stats.1 point -

We need a good 2/3 (Glynn, Palmer, Copeland). We also need the other 1 and the rest of the role players not to stink. Michigan is going to be good, tough, and ready. I have no doubt we can get it done, but it will take a total team effort for 40 minutes. Any lapses, or games like Penn State and Illinois and we are in trouble.1 point

Great point. A big factor in being able to have success defending the 3 will be whether we can stop dribble penetration into the lane. At home last year, we couldn't stop that. Michigan got either lay ups or, when we were able to keep them from getting to the rim, kick-outs for wide open 3's. It all started with dribble penetration. Thankfully, they don't have Walton (he killed us) and we have a bit more length on the floor with Isaac and James.1 point -

I watched the Ohio St game and they struggled significantly at the end of the game with Northwestern's press. They almost pissed away a 12 point lead with under 4 minutes to go. The fake NU had two chances to trim the lead from four points in the final 90 seconds but couldn't hit a shot. That should definitely catch Miles' attention. However, we're putting the cart before the horse and lets focus on curb stomping the Wolverweenies and handing them a loss that is a long time coming from us!1 point -

Most are looking at this as us fearing players will leave, but we've had a hell of a lot more positive growth due to transfers coming IN than the minimal damage caused by the ones leaving. I mean, Jacobson and Morrow left, and the players on the court are a net gain largely because of Palmer and Copeland. Palmer and Copeland, as a pair, are way more valuable. AWIII hurt a lot though, but he was a transfer to begin with and helped a lot when he was here, so I don't know what to call him.1 point -

Big game in Class A Saturday night in Omaha, as #2 Omaha Central hosts #3 Creighton Prep. Prep is looking to avenge their lone loss of the year which came against Central in the Metro Conference Tournament Semi-Finals. Lots of fun players to watch in that game including Roman Behrens, Akol Arop, and Coach Kenya Hunter's son Jaylin who is now eligible and starting for the Junior Jays. Good rivalry game, should be a fun environment, that's where I'll be.1 point -

IMO, this game will be decided at the three point line and how we do defending it. We have made dramatic improvements there this year so it will be interesting to see if our length gives Mich fits. In the past, like vs Creighton our issues defending the pick and pop has really hurt us in this game. In the last four games against Mich we have given up 42 three pointers and they were hitting at a 50% clip.1 point -
As a fan I don't like this. Part of the reason that I love college athletics but barely follow most professional sports is the roster stability. Now that may sound odd at first glance, because at best a kid is only going to play for your team for 4 years. But, historically speaking, you have been reasonably assured that when you root for a kid on your roster you know you will never have to watch him suit up for a rival team. He's yours. And even though he'll only be on your team for four years, he will forever be associated with your team only. Ty Lue played for 142 NBA teams, but has only one alma mater. He is forever a Husker. The uptick in transfers over the last decade has changed this somewhat (cough, AWIII, cough), but generally speaking the principle holds. As a parent I don't like this either. If by chance one of my kids were to earn an athletic scholarship when they eventually get to college, I don't want it to be easier for them to transfer. Transferring makes it harder to graduate in four years (or at all), and ultimately I want my kids' priority to be getting a degree. What I love about the grad transfer rule, despite my hesitancy as a fan, is that it rewards the kids who have prioritized both their academics (by graduating on time) and team (by being willing to redshirt) first. Those kids have absolutely earned the right to go wherever they can get accepted to. What I don't want to see is more kids that transfer for athletic reasons and leave school with no degree. The NCAA should be looking at ways to reduce transfers, not increase them.1 point

I suppose all nonathletes can transfer to another school if they want, so no reason athletes shouldn't be given the same privilege. Might not be as easy to do logistically as some think though with limits on scholarships, academic credit transfer, etc.1 point -

Maybe but in the proposed system it's also far less likely we land White in the first place. Not only would this open up options for players to move more it would allow certain programs more flexibility to "make room" when a guy like White does hit the market.1 point -

NO way I let him start. He's gotta start over and earn every minute he gets, not to mention the team's trust back. And that isn't going to happen with a single apology and a few days. And if that's too much of a burden, then maybe he had it right the first time.1 point

I guess if we take one game at a time(the next one) everything will work out one way or the other. I'm sure that's the message from the coaching staff.1 point

Huge Huge week to boost the resume. After getting Michigan at home, we get OSU on the road. 1-1 is really good, absolutely have to get one. 2-0... now that'd be a hell of a week. This is two top 25 games and two quadrant 1 games. Just an FYI.1 point -

This is something that Rick Telander posited in his book "The Hundred Yard Lie" back in 1989: Let's just end the charade that major-college football and men's basketball at the top 100 universities has anything to do with academics. Make the NFL and NBA pay for the development of these players, and give the players vouchers to attend school now or after their playing careers are done. You can still have a team called the "Nebraska Cornhuskers" playing at PBA or Memorial Stadium, but the players aren't necessarily students at the local university. They're apprentices learning how to play professional basketball or football, earning a stipend ($50,000 per year?) to do so, and moving up to the big time (or moving back to the real world/school with the rest of us) when they prove ready. True "college" football and basketball would be played at what are now the mid-majors, FCS and lower-division schools.1 point -

Future NBA players (with the possible exception of those over 7 feet tall) do not sit the bench or redshirt. If he was a potential NBA guy, he would be playing. Our coaches may not be coach of the year candidates, but they know enough to play the pros.1 point
