I could be wrong of course, but Leigh may be a "player" from the word go, when she gets here. She just doesn't look "high school" when she plays. (at least from the videos of her I've seen) The 2018 recruited class is going to make us dangerous in the future. The 2018 and 2019 NU women's teams, have the makings to be pretty good !

Yes this is harder than people may think. Illinois has some talent. 0-5 but 3 of those 5 games went to overtime. We can't just "expect" to win, Need to come out with a strong effort.

I like Jordie but that was a slap in the face to his team mates. If he decides not to go and the team finds a way to give him a pass and accept him back to the "brotherhood" then he better give 100% to this team. I believe we have a real shot at post season play and an even better shot next year. Team chemistry is huge and that was a very selfish move by Jordie. I know he is young and I probably made some pretty selfish moves when I was young as well. I wish Jordie the best and I hope he somehow makes it right with his team mates and we win some games going forward. I guess time will tell. With or with out him I think we have one of the best teams we have had since the Danny Nee days and I think the future is bright for Nebraska basketball! GBR!

Like mentioned before.....Gustofson (sp) is the one we need to stop. If she's hot and we can't slow her down a bunch...will be a long night. She's more mobile than Thome, and a bigger scorer. We double teamed Thome pretty effectively...must do the same to Gustofson. She's a little harder to guard too. It will a bigger task for the freshman Cain. But Iowa doesn't have a Flehearty either. Mich might have a little physically stronger team than Iowa, but Iowa is a pretty complete overall team. We need to rebound better ....Coach probably has but the rebounding bug in our girls ears. Iowa will be out in full force after losing to the boiler makers. Will be another barn burner...I hope. I like how were so super competitive now.. Here is the deal, there is confusion. The confusion is not the fault of the fans, and it doesn't appear to be the fault of the team or the coaches. One individual chose to create the confusion. So if there is angst towards that individual, if there is speculation, if there are assumptions or rumors, it is because of the actions or non-actions of that individual. This needs to be cleaned up without further delay. I am trying to remember anything like this happening quite like this. I guess the closest is the Biggs situation. But again, it needs to be resolved now! And oh, that was a heck of a finish to the Viking v. Saints game today. I wonder of Gene will be refereeing our game tomorrow night!

I don't get where people are talking about his "handlers." Does anyone know that he actually has handlers? I think he just has a big (literally) family that cares about him. They may be in his ear, they may be giving him bad advice, who knows. I don't think it is a great thing to do to your teammates, but I think there could be a lot more factors going on in the young man's head than we realize. This will get worked out in the next few days and we will either move on without him or the team will work through taking him back. Not an ideal time to deal with it that is for sure. I will root for who is out there this week because it is a big week to protect the vault.

Every basketball program complains about the effectiveness of their crowd. 8,440 of the fans at PSU made no noise at all Friday night. Because they weren't even there! Yet, somehow, their team was able to overcome this obstacle and win the game. Keeping track of who stands and for how long, who yells and how loudly, who arrives late and leaves early, are petty complaints. More important things to worry about. 4 pages now, and nobody has explained yet about how selling beer will fix everything! What's up with that?

NU plus 5.5. Again, one would think the line would be higher with a home game against an 0-5 team ( kind of sound like Doc there, starting out with "again"). Vegas continues not to think much of us. Time to earn some respect, if not money.

I hope Gill gets put out there, it seems to me he has earned it and while taylor provides leadership and definite d, we need buckets at the end of the day to win, and he brings that while not killing us on D. With that said, I really don't think whomever starts is a big deal but I do think Gill has earned some more minutes, where/who that is taken from is an even tougher question..depth is great

I think we should win and probably comfortably. However, we should have beaten Bucky by 10. How have we been closing out against pressure?

The closest thing I can recall (different sport) is Eric Crouch and the rumors that he was leaving the team as a freshman IIRC. He came back and had some noteworthy accomplishments. I prefer it be done quickly, but if the coach and the team take him back, I'm ok with that.

Some good news this weekend on the basketball front!!

His brother, Link Kabudyundi, is the senior 7'1" backup center at Texas-Arlington (where he is a teammate of Nathan Hawkins, which might not help) averaging 3 points and 2 rebounds. He took a couple unofficial visits here, out of high school and also junior college (he went from TCU to JC to UTA). So I'm sure he's wishing that his career had gone better, which might be affecting any advice he may be giving to Jordy.

lol. how do you go from asking for your scholarship release to 'needed a mental break'. my guess is he realized he'd have to take 18 months off from basketball if he left and now wants to hang around a little longer. won't be surprised when he leaves in the offseason, which is why i'd rather just cut ties with him now.

So this can't be offical, Brian Rosenthal hasn't tweeted that he is staying.

This is unreal. If they haven't talked since Thursday, would it be fair to assume Jordy is no longer in Lincoln? What other explanation could there be? If Jordy's family took him thome or to his next school, I really hope Miles withholds his release. Miles should just tell Jordy that he may be able to shit on his teammates and just walk out but to get his release he owes him a face to face conversation, like an adult,, to officially tell him he is a quitter. Also, I am guessing that Miles told Jordy on Thursday to take a few days to think about his decision and then they would talk after they returned from Penn St.

Is there some reason this decision couldn’t have waited until the end of the year? If he has to sit out the rest of this and all of next year regardless, it makes it sound like this was impulsive and not very well thought out. So,stupid AND selfish.

Yeah this may be the most selfish thing I've seen. He gets absolutely nothing from transferring now instead of at the end of the season. If you start something and commit to a team, you finish it. And tbh Miles has been more believing in Jordy than most of us at this point considering how hes been playing this season. This hurts the teammates and even Tim himself as he tries to get a contract extension. Since Miles got here the program has gotten so much more exciting and prominent, I want nothing more than for him to get an extension. Its so great to see how much all these fans love this team, and for him to quit on every single person of the 15,000 that come sell out the place, and your teammates and the coaches right in the middle of the conference play as we are trying to get back to the NCAA tournament?? Are you serious?

well, the way things have unfolded this season (so far) and since she is fairly close to Lincoln how do you NOT put coach williams and the huskers on your radar?!?

I tried not to overreact to this initially, so this is a reflective overreaction. First off, yeah, I'm surprised he couldn't make it to a game earlier and it reinforces what I see as a constant shortcoming of this program: It just isn't a priority here. This board is blessed with people who care. I guess there just aren't enough of us. Second, his quote just rubbed me the wrong way. "So I look at our record, look at the conference and, just taking a first brush at it, I feel like we’re in a fairly good place.” It's tough for an AD to say anything without getting it misinterpreted, so I'm not pulling my hair out over this. And I don't know what else he could have said. But nevertheless, the quote sent a message of complacency to me. This season is a referendum on for Miles. This is his sixth season here. My god, we've been patient. His conference record is under .400. He's never beaten Creighton, and that matters. Look at his history. He's never finished higher than 4th in either the BIG or the Mountain West. He's 51 years old, so it's not like he's young and learning. I'm not willing to give him another year for an NIT bid in a year when the conference is the worst since we joined. I'm sorry if those standards are too high, but if they are, then it explains a lot about Nebrasketball.

That's one interpretation. Another would be that he's focused first on getting the football program together and then putting his mark on the basketball program. Whether that's one year, five years, or three months, who knows? One side of speculation of course.

Roy Williams: A drop step is not a post move it's a layup and everyone needs to be able to make layups. Post players need ONE move and the counter. That's all." Jordy's go to move is the jumphook to the middle. He needs to learn a double drop when that move ist taken away and he's good. Catch the ball, Drop step either way if available, if not go to your go to move, if they take that away use the counter, if that's not there kick it out and repost. There should be no "thinking" in that process. Just train the muscle memory and then go through the progression everytime you catch the ball.
