  1. From what I have seen of the league this year I think our team has a legitimate chance to finish in the top four. That's not saying we will, but even the biggest pessimist has to agree we should not finish in the bottom four.

  2. Dont feel like that at all. Of course it wouldve been nice to win, but we fought hard on the road against a good team.

  3. Yep, I told that to the Misses. worthless, she needs to retire like Teddy Valentine.

  5. Great win! I am so impressed with the job Coach Williams is doing, the balance on offense, team play and enough defense to get wins. Sweep the road with a win in Champaign Wednesday.

  6. We are not in the top two...today...let's see how things shake out of the entire year. One never knows, and injury here, a slump there, who knows. For example, Purdue has a very good top six, maybe even seven, but if they lose one or the other of their key players, then who knows.

  7. We should hold serve at home. We need to pick up a couple on the road. I think we can.

  8. At least we reduced the probability of Haarms reproducing with some inadvertent shots to the groin.

  9. Yeah, but who were you rooting for? This will be a good year to let the undergraduate you show through.

  12. We showed up as an NIT 4 seed, first time I've seen us with any postseason forecast: https://www.dratings.com/predictor/bracketology/ Hey, it's a start!

  14. I've decided not to post much this year because, well, let's be honest...great or greatest basketball team to wear red? That being said...a few thoughts. 1) Isaac Copeland is now Isak Copeland. We do not need to pull the double AA stunt PU does 2) speaking of Copeland. That.made.my.fwording.life. and it should this team. You fight hard as rabbit turds and you have these unlikable Space Jam monster looking dudes troll you. That was literally like any member of the toon squad dunking on the monstars without the special water. 3) Purdue is good. But old good. So, let's play this out in a few years when everyone is retired and they have a tall db running the show 4) Jordy didn't just fold into himself. We have options? We don't know optimal line ups? Sounds like bad coaching...but not really. Magic couch ride ladies and gentlemen. I'll start a gofundme for steppenwolf when we clinch top 4 in the league Sent from my HTC6545LVW using Tapatalk

  16. Apparently so! The refs were bad in an equal opportunity kind of way today. Very inconsistent from one end to the other. That bald-headed dork must be named Eades. He always sucks as bad as the other 'Eades' brothers. T call on Copeland was BS - much worse happens all the time and no call is made.

  17. Yeah, we didn't come close to even tying this one up, but I'm proud about this team. We lose this one by 30 points on some of our other squads.

  19. Man, this feels like a missed opportunity... There must have been more to the story on Cope's T. Not sure if something had been brewing, but it was a weak call. NU have every chance to be in this game. Every time they had a chance to get back in the game and really make things interesting, they literally gave it away. Glynn seemed to struggle today. Frankly, most of the back court did, at least offensively. Roby did some nice things, I thought it was one of his better games, actually. Purdue was allowed to be really physical in the perimeter today, especially early. Really harassed NU into a bunch of turnovers, which may have been the difference in the game. That Haarms kid is skyrocketing up my most annoying player leader board. I'd really like to see NU mix in the press more in the middle of games, not just when they're trying to make a miracle comeback. I'd like to see them ambush teams with it. It seems to produce results just about every time they use it. They don't need to do it a lot, just occasionally. For a team with a dominant front court, NU sure dunked a lot. Jordy didn't play in the 2nd half. He hasn't played much in a bunch of 2nd halves. Why is he still starting? Tanner is solid, but he's got some nuances he's still figuring out. Had a couple chances to pickup some offensive fouls but didn't. I think he'll learn how to pick those up. Thomas Allen going through a few of those Freshman blues? For the second game in a row, the rebounding improved quite a bit after halftime. Let's see if we can get that figured out before the break next time. NU shouldn't fear Purdue if they face them again. Hopefully they get another shot at them in New York. Alright, that's enough for now. Here's to getting back on track on Tuesday vs. Wisconsin. Road to 20

The nice thing is that I go through that list and there isn't one game were I am like... "Well that is an L." Sure there are a few games that will be tough, but certainly not out of the range of possibility. One thing we will have to recognize is that no one is going to take us for granted this year anymore. Everyone will play hard against us night in and night out. We need to be ready for that. We probably won't catch anyone sleeping on the Huskers this year. That's a good thing.

  25. Ever since the MSU game, we have played pretty well defensively. We are allowing 71.1 PPG. The teams we have played during that stretch have avg. 80.2 PPG during the season. Keep playing defense, and we should be able to take care of enough on offense to win a good majority of games. We already played 2 of the toughest defenses in the Big 10 (MSU and PU)

  30. I was just thinking today how much I would have been ecstatic to be 2-2 through the first 4 conference games had you told me that was going to happen before the season. Before the season I wanted 10 non con wins. That’s because I thought we would be lucky to be 1-3 after the first 4 conference games. Well we’re 2-2 and got 9 non con wins. We’re right where I want to be right now. Could things be better? Yes... we probably have 1-2 we’d like back. Could things be worse? Yes! We have probably won 1-2 that we would have lost in previous years. We we have a huge opportunity ahead of us. When your toughest remaining games are Michigan and Ohio State... there is a big opportunity already being 2-2. I was down a little after yesterday, but man... looking at the big picture.... you can’t help but get excited.

  31. Didn’t know there was such a thing as a “look” foul. I’ve heard of “touch” fouls. But a “look” foul has got to be something new.

  32. All in all, after 4 conference games, against what many considered to be the top 4 teams at the start of the year (I realize NW hasn't held up their end in that prognostication and McIntosh being injured didn't hurt), I feel pretty good about where we are.

  33. Watch Haas when he goes back to the bench, he's like, "I don't know man, not sure what the T was for. He didn't say nothing." ...at least that's my interpretation of it.

  35. LOTS of mismatches, not enough stops & not enough easy buckets. I didn't think we played that poorly, but beating a team as good as Purdue on the road is a tall order (pun intended).
    1 point
  36. Actually, it might. When they play with effort, and I think they have vs. every conference opponent, they're gonna be very hard to beat for the rest of the teams on the schedule.

  38. They had multiple opportunities to get that lead down under 9 and would have a bad possession, or turn it right back over something like that. I'm not saying NU should have won, but I think they had chances to take it down to the wire.

  45. Compare this (Lynch suspended) to the situation at Princeton a couple of years ago where the starting point guard got kicked out of school the second semester of his senior year because his ex-girlfriend decided after the fact that she really hadn’t wanted to have sex with him again after all. He was accused of a non-crime of “sexual misconduct” because #believewomen and dismissed from school. Unreal.

  46. It's a very good site to follow throughout the season. Will be interesting to see if we are projected in any of the brackets after last night's win once they all start updating. As of now we're still not in any of them and Northwestern is only projected to be in 1 of the 46 brackets on there. Kind of a bummer.
