For the record, I thought this was a totally fair assessment. Foster and Thomas are excellent players. I put Watson on their level, and Palmer may very well end up there, but those two CU guards are tough as hell and I respect their games.4 points -
A Jaysker, on a Nebrasketball board, taking two guys from his team "any day of the week" over someone he's seen play but once (and I think Palmer played only about half of each game so far) is . . . well . . . very enlightening. And, of course, the two box scores provide enlightenment that's unique to our Jaysker friends over us Nebrasketball dolts. And . . . oh yeah--the one player from his team has already been declared by someone on this board (maybe even in this thread) as something like the best defender in the entire nation. So, undoubtedly, every objective person in the entire world would have to agree with our beloved Jayskers.4 points

As I recall, there are many good things about being 39 years old. Don't rush it. Plus, you have not had to sit through nearly as many years without the Huskers winning a basketball conference title or an NCAA tournament game.2 points -
Only listened to pieces of this so I don't know if there is anything "new" here other than Miles says "karaoke" differently than I do and Miles talked about the phenomenon of "Burno-ing". Pretty informative...would recommend. - Spent the first 15 talking to Greg about everything including the two scrimmages. Miles would certainly be in favor of playing multiple games for charity. - 2nd segment: Talking about the freshmen. Allen is a heady kid...recognized right away how much he needs to learn. Apparently the practices before Miss St game they threw the kitchen sink at him defensively in some scenarios which shook him up. Had a better week of practice before ISU and that helped with his confidence (and better showing). Allen isn't super quick but is smart/heady and has a good pace...thus he can get by guys and get up a shot. Thorir has been adjusting to the change. They played a 5 minute game with all the younger players vs ISU and he "stole the show" Nana is a phenomenal athlete, lights out shooter. Needs to work on ball skills and has to learn how to play D in our system. "His issues isn't talent...it's acclimation to the system." It seems like Nana is going to be a SG for us as Miles proceeded to list all the guys ahead of him on the depth chart at the "2" Sharpe asked about redshirting but Miles really didn't answer. He did mention that we are 11 deep right now including Allen in that group. (I personally am starting to warm up to redshirt Nana and Thorir) Scott (with the distinctive voice) from Lincoln asking about the chemistry. Miles went into some detail about how the guys all hang out and stuff like that. Currently they're undefeated and when teams inevitably lose, then you find out about the chemistry. Miles talks about the staff changes. Eaton is the DOBO. Teddy Owens and Brett Sapp moved on. Starts talking about how he had to replace two assistants in one season and says "I got Burno-ed" (I almost pissed myself). Apparently Burno will screenshot stuff that people post on twitter and send them to Miles so he can tell his side of the story. (I have tears in my eyes I'm laughing so hard) He reveals they have a good relationship and they give each other crap back and forth. Talked about the assistants. Giving Michael more on offense. Talks about Kenya's recruiting and skill development. Does a Molinari impersonation when describing how much game tape Mo goes through "I'M 60! WHAT ELSE AM I GOING TO DO?!?!? Sharpe brought up Moos and Miles mentioned in his 3 Div 1 jobs he's had 7 ADs, 7 football coaches, and 6 presidents. Noted Moos' extensive experience as a very important attribute. Final caller John in Lincoln takes a roundabout Nebraska Nice way to ask if this team is going to be any good and whether or not he should buy tickets. Miles handles it as graciously as you'd expect, noting that we just have a few hundred left and you can come in for free on the scrimmage to see for yourself. Final notes: Our scrimmage vs Northwood, Michigan is caoched by former Husker player Jeff Rekeweg and that's why we decided to play them Sharpe brings up Tanner, Miles notes he dropped 30 lbs, less than he weighed in middle school (I'm unsure if he's joking here). Miles notes he's played 8-9 minutes each game, he's a serviceable guy. Sharpe: That's not coach speak, you're going to play him. Miles: I already have.2 points

I have a confession to make: I don't really have a problem with "jayskers." As long as they don't hate Nebraska's other sports. Because that would be pretty stupid. I can think of just one guy who falls into that category.2 points -

I've seen one game and studied two box scores. Hard to know at this point what Palmer will be on average. Are these two games Palmer at his peak? Or are they just typical performances? The fact that he got to the foul line a ton when his 3-pointer wasn't falling in the ISU game is certainly a good sign for his ability to score consistently. I'll put it this way: Biased I may be, I'll take Thomas and Foster over Taylor and Palmer any day of the week. I think Foster will be able to score better against Taylor's defense than Palmer will against Thomas', and I'll take Thomas' scoring over Taylor's by far. Toss in Watson and Mintz/Joseph and the equation becomes a bit more even, however. I think this year's game has the potential to be a lot of fun.2 points -
Taylor thus far has played the 1, 2, 3, and 4. He's being considered for ELMER'S™ GLUE GUY OF THE YEAR award.2 points

Now that this is a thing.... We almost have to get a Big 10/Big East home game right? A good year could give us a formidable home game here. We will also probably be on the road for the Big 10/ACC Challenge. A good year could give us a formidable road game here.1 point -

Rothstein sees NU as the bigger name than Tech. Considering where the games will be played and on the college sports landscape, NU's a bigger brand for this. Tech may be a bigger hoops draw but I think both are fairly invisible on the CBB scene unless one of them makes a run this year.1 point -

First news about next years schedule: Huskers to play in the CBE Classic in Kansas City. Field isn't as sexy as this years by joining NU will be USC, Texas Tech and Missouri St. Matchups haven't been determined just yet. https://www.fanragsports.com/rothstein-usc-and-nebraska-to-headline-2018-cbe-classic/ Those are games I'd consider making the trip down for. This year's games are played on Monday and Tuesday nights, however. That would make it tougher. That's three games we know about so far when you include Creighton coming to town.1 point -

It is doable as long as he is not asked to play too many minutes. Honestly Tai had to play too many minutes last year, there wasn't much of a choice. By the end of the year he lost a significant amount of productivity. I would love it if we keep Glynn at about 28 minutes a night...tops.1 point -

I am not a true baseball fan. If my team isn't in the World Series or I don't have a team to cheer against, it's just an afterthought. This is the first year in a while i can remember this happening. The last few I've been cheering for my friends' teams to lose horribly because I'm a good friend who hopes your teams fail.1 point

And, even though they’re touting their school, don’t be saying anything bad about our beloved Jaykers’ team from last year (I know nothing about this year’s team—although I’m sure they’ll try to remedy that defect). After all: —the guy charged with sexual assault got the charges dismissed, I believe, —and the guy dismissed from another school’s team on discipline grounds hasn’t had a recurrence of the same issues, that we know of, —and the guy with academic difficulties getting eligible didn’t have any academic issues during two years in college, that we are aware of, —and the agent guy arrested by the Feds for illegal recruiting efforts was entirely above board and proper in his close dealings with our friends’ school. So . . . don’t be mentioning things like that in response to our Jaysker friends.1 point

Now that NU-Minny football has been set for 11 a.m. on Nov 11, we should get NU hoops times for season openers Nov 11 soon. Maybe women's game vs SIU-Edwardsville at between 3 and 4 pm and men vs E Illinois at between 7 and 8 pm?1 point

I cannot imagine our rotation being limited to 8 players this year. Which two among the following are you going to keep off the floor in order to limit the rotation to 8? Thomas Allen? Jack McVeigh? Isaiah Roby? Anton Gill? Duby Okeke/Tanner Borchardt? I'd suggest AT LEAST 4 of the above 6 are going to see regular minutes in addition to the 5 starters. And as I look at the roster, I think we're really going to have to hit the transfer market hard this next off-season. Palmer and Copeland having good seasons would really boost our appeal in that regard.1 point -

Patton - had he gone through the normal recruiting process - would have ended up at a Duke or Kentucky type team. But word is he really REALLY wanted to go to Creighton, so all McDermott had to to was offer and it was over. Not really much anybody can do about that. Those guys have a horseshoe stuck so far up their ass right now they have no idea...1 point -
