No inside knowledge, but it is possible this whole situation has been delayed due to the medical opinion/documentation. If I recall correctly, the basis of Copeland's appeal is that Georgetown had him playing while injured. If that is the case, Nebraska must not only show that Copeland was injured and should not have played but also provide some kind of basis why Copeland was allowed to play. That type of information requires time to prepare and even more time to review. The NCAA knows the Copeland decision could create future precedent for other cases, and I understand why they are being cautious. Expect a decision before the start of the season (or shortly thereafter).2 points

After watching that hudl video Hal9000 posted, I'm calling this a good pick up for us. Kid is still maturing, but he shows the ability to do an awful lot in that video. Handles the ball well in the open floor. Runs the floor pretty fast. Spins both left and right. Showed a good looking jumper. Nice spin move to a righty hook in the lane. Good touch, good feel around the basket. And good sense of his own body in space. I was expecting him to look a little uncoordinated as lanky tall kids often are. But he really has good coordination. He needs to get stronger of course (which he almost certainly will), but he shows some skills. A lot of skills. A lot of good skills. I'm going to say it now: This will come back to bite McDermott in the butt that he effectively passed on this kid by making a 2019 offer contingent on him going to a prep school for a year. The kid will probably get more out of a redshirt year in Lincoln, to be honest. Welcome aboard, Brady.2 points -

This article says at the NebHSRecruiting Top 50 showcase on Aug. 1 they measured the participants. It says they measured Heiman's standing reach of 105.5 inches, no step vertical of 31.5, height 6' 10.5", weight 197 pounds, wingspan 81.25 inches and hand-size of 9 inches. http://www.omaha.com/neprepzone/recruiting/boys-basketball/platteview-big-man-brady-heiman-moves-quickly-commits-to-nebraska/article_40a373d2-7cb6-11e7-82eb-0bea119a29d6.html They list the stats for the top 50 from Nebraska under the above article including height/weight, wingspan, standing reach, no-step vertical jump and hand-size for each player.2 points -
A lot of kids chose schools for other reasons than subjective pecking order. Also, Butler has been in the Big East for 4+ years now. "Mid-major" is an outdated description. -2 points

This is from Huskers.com: Thorbjarnarson played for KR Reykjavik in the Icelandic League last year, averaging 10.2 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game for a team that went 26-8 and won the league championship in the top pro league in the country. He shot 53 percent from the field, including 38 percent from 3-point range last winter. His team has won the title in each of the past three seasons. That means I am rooting for him to be successful for himself and to further the program. End of my contribution to this thread. Good luck to Brady and of course, Go Big Red.1 point -

If he were a guard I can justify it but not a center prospect. You didnt see Creighton send Patton to a prep school for a reason. Big men that need to gain size and practice are better off attending a D1 program asap. They will get a meal plan designed for them to gain the mass needed, on top of the weight training program. On top of it the only thing he would do at a prep school playing wise will usually be other undersized big men or guys he is a couple inches taller than. Theres a reason you hear guys like Thomas Allen coming into a program saying its the first time they did heavy lifts and then would practice this summer and was air balling his shots. The prep school he went to is one of the best in the country and hes just now doing those things. As a big man he needs that stuff right now so after his redshirt season he can hopefully have the maturity, strength, and mass to be able to compete even a little bit for us.1 point -

That's certainly what would have been said if we had offered the less heralded Mike Daum out of HS. Heiman isn't a Power 5 center ATM and he might never be. He might be the next Roy Enright or the next Rich King here or anywhere inbetween His higher level of play these last few weeks earned him several D-1 offers in addition to NU and CU. We'll see if that level is still there next year in HS. To me it seems more like a matter of when he will be impactful than if he will be.1 point -

Actually, Jimmy, it's far more sinister. It has to do with the Bilderbergs and the tri-lateral commission, and their attempts at world domination, which all funnels through HHC. Seth Rich, who was from Omaha and attended Creighton University on a rowing scholarship, had leaked top secret recruiting information from this site to a bunch of pizza restaurants on the east coast in an effort to undermine the ascendance of Nebraska basketball under Tim Miles. I'd tell you what PIZZA stands for but I don't wanna get killed. Anyway, the Bilderbergs' kids fell in love with the inflatable Lil' Red mascot back in the 1990s and so ... Wait a sec, there's someone knocking at my door ...1 point -

I will not contest Jack's stroke or hard work ethic. However, the consensus of people I trust say Jack lacks athleticism. I wonder if there is truth to this belief. Jack's inside game is not strong. He length compensates for smaller, quicker players. He seems to lack strength at times. I am not trying to dog on Jack, but he does seem more limited than other players. I have no problems with Jack finding his spots along the 3pt line and attempting shots. I am just not sure how he fits other roles. For that reason I feel he is better off the bench. I understand some will be quick to counter that Jack will probably be playing international ball after college. So did Shang Ping.1 point -

Thor's commitment is really interesting. Remember Jeriah Horne? He was recruited as a PF because of his bulk. Maybe a stretch 4 because of his shooting ability. His actually game on the floor, though, translated more like a 3. He was a good shooter who wasn't very explosive, which was his weakness as a wing. But when you're out on the wing, you don't have to be a husky guy like Jeriah. And it looks to me like Thor brings to the table the things we might have gotten out of Jeriah had he stuck around. And in a package that appears to be much faster from one end of the floor to the other. Probably a better fit for this program at this particular point in time. I liked Jeriah, don't get me wrong. But I think a place like Tulsa will be a good spot for him. He'll be one of the top scoring options on their team as soon as he's eligible. He was just a tweener for us, though: Lacked the size to play inside; lacked the speed to play outside.1 point -
