The only way I will be okay with Texas in a conference with us again is after I am dead.6 points -
I really dislike Texas. It's their attitude, that and the fact we didn't beat them very often in most sports. For our younger posters, who weren't born back in the mid 1990's when the Big Eight conference was kind enough to let 4 schools from the failed SWC into our league, here's the skinny. On almost every vote when it came to determining conference rules and guidelines, whenever it was Texas vs Nebraska, the other seven Big Eight schools always sided with Texas. At that time, they couldn't beat NU in football, so they decided to bring us down legislatively. Texas is definitely a villain. The 7 remaining Big 8 schools, especially Missouri and OU, are pussies. This crap has been building up inside of me for over 20 years.3 points

It'd be pretty surprising if Ole Miss allowed him to sign with another SEC school. A lot of these late releases are granted with restrictions on in-conference opponents. Of course Ole Miss could actually put the kid's education first and...LOL, never mind. That thought's so outlandish that I can't even finish the sentence.2 points

That strike on Schlep was terrible. The pitch was outside. Then, he waits until Luis is standing up on 2nd to call him out.1 point -

Really like that this kid brings tons of athleticism to PBA. Here's to hoping that each of the new recruits keep themselves healthy and ready to hit the floor running when they get here.1 point -

Hello? It's too quiet in here

The life of a Pirates fan. I love MLB and college hoops but those last couple quotes show what is wrong with MLB. A team like Pittsburgh has to trade off their top players before their contracts are up to get something for them because they can't afford (or at least that is what the owner says) them and a team like the Cubs can just fill what they need by putting up the big bucks. Two teams in the same division with much different economic backgrounds. The same thing is filtering into college sports as well with Nike U on the west coast and all the new facilities being built and endless recruiting budgets (legal or illegal) at some schools.1 point -

The kind of team Amy Williams wants long-term, not sure they're gonna get much "bigger" than Veerbeek is at 6-2/6-3. Mershon is 6-1. Brown is 6-0 and may be 6-1 when she gets here. Williams' second team should be in much better shape - to run and spread the floor - than her first team was. And she wants to play more aggressive perimeter D...like Connie's teams did in the earlier days. (Maybe not quite as aggressive as Connie's early teams did with extending the D.) Veerbeek is the No. 51 player in the nation now, BTW.1 point -
Yes but...how about calling offensive fouls when the on ball defender is in legal guarding position and the ball handler lowers his shoulder and goes through the defender? I like those calls and it's not called enough. Defender is moving in a defensive stance and gets rammed by the ball handler. Offensive foul. But then eliminate the ability of a defender to beat someone to a spot, stop, and draw a charge. The offensive player already has free reign because at any time a guard can just burrow their head and usually get a "reach" call.1 point

Not too many charges are earned by standing in a spot. You have to move your feet to beat them to the spot. You take out the charge and offensive players just lower their shoulder and run people over on the way to the hoop. You can't play any defense when you allow the offense free rein to run through people.1 point -
