If this is the kid I think it is, Norm approves. Extremely good off the dribble. Gets to the rim and finishes. Three point range. Adequate quicks for a power 5 guard. But being aggressive with the ball in her hands is a trait you can teach, but it's a mindset that kids either have or they don't and this girl has it. Still need a big.

That's funny, the Metro Detroit sports talk show was taking about this yesterday since it looks like Notre Dame is going to the ACC. The host and producer were pretty much in agreement that they want Oklahoma and Texas to join the Big 10 to balance out the west in football and be decently competitive in football. When the idea of bringing in Kansas instead of Texas was brought up, well...let's just say it was met with an emphatic no. I'm in favor of Oklahoma and Kansas btw

I'd doubt that, but one never knows.

Royals are starting to play a little bit better. This is a big next 13 days that will probably decide where this season is going to go. Got the Yanks for 7 of those games. They lead the AL East. Then we have the Twinks and Indians for 3 each in there and they are 1-2 in the AL Central. Would prefer to go better than .500 but would take .500. Especially with 10 of the 13 on the road.

Plenty of room on the Indians bandwagon. Ive already conceded that last year is the closest I will ever get to seeing a World Series win.

And Cady....she wasn't a giant. But would mix it up under the boards. That's the thing that separates the rebounders, from players so to speak. They are willing to be aggressive and "bang" to get the ball. Some players, men or women...strong rebounding just isn't in their game. Our best rebounder this coming year, will need to rebound and be careful to not foul much. Need her on the floor as much as possible.

From watching her play, it seemed she was going to be a continual contributor, and was improving. Liked her game. Good ball handler, shot was improving, nice guard for the future. Good luck to her ...I'm sure she'll succeed at South Dakota State.

Plus, her high school team has a great nickname....the Spuds!

The kind of team Amy Williams wants long-term, not sure they're gonna get much "bigger" than Veerbeek is at 6-2/6-3. Mershon is 6-1. Brown is 6-0 and may be 6-1 when she gets here. Williams' second team should be in much better shape - to run and spread the floor - than her first team was. And she wants to play more aggressive perimeter D...like Connie's teams did in the earlier days. (Maybe not quite as aggressive as Connie's early teams did with extending the D.) Veerbeek is the No. 51 player in the nation now, BTW.

That's a good idea. Force a defender to play defense instead of being rewarded for standing in a spot and flopping backward.
