The Eichorst and players meeting happened tonight and went well. For now it seems like Miles is still the coach. I expect Miles to be the coach next year and expect no more transfers. This can all change in a second, however, so how's that for keeping the Internet going?

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Frickin whoa down there. Wait. Atewe. That video ain't bad. The kid has really, really improved his game from when he was in prep school. I just crunched the numbers and, per 40 minutes of playing time, he's averaging almost 10 and-a-half points and rebounds per 40 minutes of playing time. Which ain't great, but it ain't bad either. And he shoots over 50% from the floor. And he's a grad transfer so he doesn't have to sit out? He's no Ed Morrow, but we could do worse.

The officiating was bad...but part of the problem of why it is bad...is that they allow so many things that force them into bad calls. Call travelling when a guy mis-executes the jump stop, then you don't have to call the silly touch blocking foul after the travel. Guys were planted in the lane for 5, 6 or 7 seconds...and then they get rewarded with a foul on their terrible shot attempt. There are reasons why you have to dribble and why you can't camp in the lane...and when you ignore those parts of basketball, you see bad calls that never should have happened.... Calling travels will force kids to learn how to do a proper jump stop...they will learn to quit shuffling their feet.... Call 3 seconds and guys will get out of the lane.... Palming the basketball...make guys actually dribble it...and you will see less chippy fouls because the offense has such an advantage when they can palm the basketball and then travel at the end of their drive...how is a guy supposed to defend? Freedom of movement....blah...they could clean up the game by callilng some of the most basic rules that have been around forever.

I am telling you, the NCAA has to look at the refereeing going into next year. If the threesome working the championship game is the best of the best, then college basketball is in trouble. The stage was set for a terrific game and this is a choppy, hard to watch game.

NBA players make a lot of money, but they spend a lot also.

Most coaches I talked too got there late Wednesday or Thursday and head out Sunday. Very few stay or even attend the game

I personally do not believe that Coach Miles will voluntarily leave Nebraska (this year). That said, it would be his agent making contact, not Coach Miles. So it is quite easy for Coach Miles to say he personally has not had contact.

I love some of the individual pieces on next year's team. I still struggle seeing it be a complete team. I still struggle seeing our defense improve. I still struggle with the trend that we are seeing guys who have been major factors leave. I struggle seeing the team gel for the entire year. I hope I'm wrong. And I hope we don't lose anyone else. But something tells me we are just delaying the inevitable here.

...and the rest of the Big East rejoices as Georgetown has ended all notion of being competitive for at least the next 3 to 5 years...

He was our enforcer. Nobody messed with Ed. Will miss that attitude. Will miss his motor. Will miss his rebounding. Will miss his quick jumping ability. Will miss some of his offensive moves. But he does have limited range, but perhaps he can work on that aspect of his game in his redshirt year. Sorry, I will miss Ed. We will miss Ed. But everyone is replaceable. His offensive stat line will be replaced.
