  1. To take a break from basketball, I want to mark the passing of the person who I think truly is the "father" of rock and roll. Chuck Berry. He wrote all his songs, which were really, really good. He kicked ass on the guitar. He had a great stage presence. John Lennon once said, if you wanted to rename rock 'n' roll, you could call it Chuck Berry. When I heard the news of his passing yesterday, I was really bummed even though he lived to be 90. I'm sure Buddy Holly greeted him at the Pearly Gates and said "what took you so long?" Chuck replies, "Me? Ask Keith Richards that in another 40 years." So many Berry videos I could have posted, but I chose this classic to show what PBA ticketholders look like at a Husker game. Check out the people behind Chuck. RIP Mr. Berry!

Sure, and I'd rather have the winning powerball than have a coach go 96-75. Of course, neither of our comments has anything to do with what was being discussed.

  3. Im hoping for the same as well idk if I actually posted this or not but he should have red shirted. He was not physically ready which I believe caused him to struggle and have confidence issues. But I've seen this story before It was pretty much the exact same with his freshman yr of highschool as far as his play and development and kinda team as a whole. Idk how this translates to college but sophomore yr they won a regional title ? Im expecting big things next yr

Underwood is taking the money. Oklahoma State had him on the cheap last season. Can he get Chicago kids to go down state? If he can, the Illini will win. Bill Self was on the verge of a championship there when KU opened.

We didn't finish strong at all. However when you look back at our last few blowout losses you also see those were to teams going somewhere.

Nebraska went 1-5 against Sweet 16 field. What's more crazy is that Nebraska played 6 games (Michigan twice) and 5 teams in the Sweet 16.... man our schedule was brutal.

  24. Just optimist I guess about next year. Will still be in the lower half of the league maybe, but we'll be more experienced. Will win a few close ones we lost this year. Continue to think Burns is the key.

    Shot clock

Vote yes to the need to have the Nebraska HS girls shot clock. 35 sec maybe for girls. It teaches them to play "real" BBall...not some slow down boring game....slowed down on purpose.

    Coach Williams notes

If....Rachael can't play next season...then we will need a big desperately. And one that has at least Jr. college level experience. We'll have more guards with the transfers playing, and Miss Kissenger...so go big !

    Michigan

Michigan was also 14 - 9 at one point. They are dominated by upperclassmen. Walton, Donnal, Robinson, and Irvin are seniors. Abdul-Rakman and Wilson are juniors. We have to get better at defending the 3 point line. If we don't, we are not going to win. Teams shot 39.9 % against us from 3. That can't happen. Even Michigan found that out. They were dead last after 23 games defending the 3. They allowed teams to shoot 41.2% during that time. After that point, they are 11-2, actually now 12-2. Going into the Louisville game, in the last 13 games, teams were shooting 32.2% from 3. If defense gets better, we are able to shoot better, we should make the tournament.

Holy Moly, Another Thriller, Shockers stay with Kentucky leading 63-6 1 2, a 1 pt game & under 1 to play! Kentucky wins; 65-62. Tough way for the Shockers to lose after hanging with Kentucky, point-for-point the entire game!

This year the only playmakers were Tai and Glynn who could develop there own shot. Teams keyed on them and they became battered and bruises. There were glimpses of Jordy an Ed. Next year there will be 4 transfers within the top 11 players how they mesh with the other players and there injuries will be important. By big 10 season next year starts I expect either Nana or Roby to start. I hope Roby develops into his body. I can guarantee that Nebraska had one of the least amount of assists in the Big 10. Who is going to be that 2nd or 3rd playmaker next year? Here's hoping we can maybe steal a recruit from the coaching turnover at Indiana or Illinois.

From 1965-1981 they finished over .500 5 times. Then they hired Johnny Orr away from Michigan, and they've been to the NCAAs 18 times out of the last 33 years.

    so what's next?

Tired of hearing the self imposed sanctions thing and people whining about not being able to get 13 scholarship players. A rotation is 8, 9, 10 players at the very most. Say what you want about competition in practice blah blah blah. We want the most firepower we can possibly have within that playing rotation. Miles has made clear his strategy on optimizing potential to add firepower to the rotation. That is to leave a spot open for a mid season transfer because guys in the spring who haven't signed yet are overvalued and recruited by everyone who needs a guy. In other words, they usually aren't as good as advertised and odds of landing them are small. Adding a 13th just to add a 13th does no good. It's not like we are turning 5 star recruits away and saying sorry we have to leave a spot open in case there's a mid season transfer we want. We usually have reeled in the best of the recruits available who want to come here and are scratching and clawing for guy number 12. So it's not like adding a 13th guy who is questionable at this level does us any good.

To a point I get what you guys are saying. However, we're in the business of winning games, not winning talk radio. Are we good enough/lucky enough to pick the right Nebraska kid in the future? Lot of upside if you're right and a lot of downside if you're wrong.

    Michigan

When I went to NU/UM game I couldn't figure out how they were on the NCAA tourney bubble. Watching them warm-up I was worried that NU would get blown out but figured (wrongly) that NU would show up to play and Michigan would play below their heads. Unfortunately they were just warming up. They looked very athletic and just happen to be playing their best basketball of the year right now.

  49. It has to be a damn one hour prep for coaches to figure out how to scheme for us defensively. Put your best defender on Tai. Don't let Glynn go right (because he cant drive/pull up to his left). Let literally anyone take 3's. Play behind the bigs and let Jordy, Ed, or MJ either convert, miss, or turn the ball over by bringing it down, dribbling too much, etc. And...that's pretty much it. Holy hell we need a shooter. You suck AW3
