That two stuck it out for their entire college careers, through thick and the thin of events in the BBall program. Didn't hear a lot of complaining. They are excellent kids with character and love this school...and their teammates. Allie & Esther may not be an ALL B1G stars,but I'll take their dedication to the teams effort at hand, and gave all they've got anyway...over and over. They typify what being a Husker is all about.

It makes zero sense that Miles has anything to do with how are games are called. If it was about interaction with the refs, compared to Tom Crean and Fran McRager, are you kidding me?

Yes. Both the days of the weeks and the times. Our weekend home games have almost all been on Sunday and many have been at night. Our week day games have frequently been on Tuesday and Thursday and many at 8 or 6. I miss the big 12 days when we played Wednesday at 7 and Saturday at 1. I don't understand why college basketball games have to be spread out? Is there some fan that will watch Rutgers play on Tuesday and northwestern on Wednesday and then Illinois at 6 on Thursday and Nebraska at 8? I doubt it. As someone who goes to the football and basketball games I am tired of these obnoxious TV times.

That's a long shot chance. I wouldn't feel safe unless we won the Ship. That'd put us at 18-16. Im even a sunshine pumper around here, but that'd be a long shot.

All sarcasm aside, having our former players come back and remain involved in the Program is a good thing, a very good thing. I've been in many places over the years and asked to have the ball game turned on only to hear the same old tired joke,"Nebraska has a Basketball team?" Yeah they do. It's important that players come back and remind the team AND the fans that Nebraska basketball MEANS something. It has a history, a history that goes way beyond the move to the Haymarket. Being a Husker football fan is easy, anyone can do that. But being a Husker basketball fan is different. It requires a love for the game and an emotional investment that most people aren't willing to make. So, let's beat Illinois on Sunday and Go Big Red!

Well, here we go. Illinois comes to town. The question has been raised is this the Huskers biggest game of the year? It sure could be. I'll go out on a limb and say it is the most pivotal game of the year. We beat the Illini, we stay out of the play in round of the tourney and have momentum going into Minnesota. Drop this one and the possibility of losing out to end the season becomes larger and the speculation for a coaching change comes front and center. It's really cool a lot of former players are back this weekend and the 86-87 team is being featured. That team showed a ton of character accepting a new head coach and making it to the NIT Final Four. In early 86, Billy Ocean had a hit which that team personified and this current one needs to down the stretch to become the team that we all know they are. It's time to climb any mountain, guys. GBR!

The banked 3 was just pure luck. Never make that shot again.....just threw it up. Had she missed.... the game was over. We have figured out how to win. We decided to want it enough. Make a decent percentage on FT's, and it would have been won in regulation. Nicea's defense gave us a chance...she gets the awesome award today. Jess and Hannah deserve it too...Allie played her guts out. Maddie came in and played much more in control and we benefited from it. Just the greatest effort this year...and for that matter one of the better ones in the last few years. To be the team we started, and with little experience.... to grow up into a tough B1G competitor. AWESOME!!

I kinda feel like this is a perception game. If we finish 0-4 could you really blame someone for being done with Miles and not bring upset if he was fired? Winning at Minnesota will be tough and we have never beaten Michigan. So yeah I would say being Illinois is kinda a necessary win.

We're "HONORING" the 3rd place NIT squad from Nee's 1st season. If that doesn't put some butts in the seats & get the players worked into a lather, well, I don't know what will.

I know here in Lincoln we tend to measure progress the way most people measure a glacier, but not next year. Making the NCAAs & competing for a B1G title should be a given. I think we will have a meteoric rise (ala Butler) and not only MAKE the Tourney, but have a deep run becoming the darlings of the Basketball world. There I said it...

I really doubt finishing the year at 17-15 will get us in the tournament even with the #1 SOS.

Her dad hasn't been posting here this year...I assume because Rachel can't play. But wish he could let the fans know how she's doing, unless its preferred by themselves, or the team ...to not report on injured players. Just wishful thinking... it would be great if she had a twin so there could be two Rachel's on the team. We need her for her excellent play and leadership. Obviously a great teammate and well liked by the the rest of the team..

Many of the shouters have plenty of free time & are paid to shout. Not sure they're are willing to pay for a sporting event.
