I loved seeing in his comments that Jordy is now asking the refs before games what is and isn't a foul. Outstanding!4 points

Norm, It would be more correct to use the scientific name of the disease to which you refer, Tinea Cruris. Incidentally that also happens to be the name of a stripper in Moldavia.3 points -

WBB: Game # 24 vs Ohio State

Wasn't able to watch game last night, so watched a replay today. We did about as well as we could. Looked pretty good when the ball was dropping through the hoop...when not, we went through dry spells. OSU simply were better shooters. We did a lot of driving to the basket.....need to get better at finishing...but definitely a step forward. We seem to attack the rebounding phase much better... and got some rebounds we normally we haven't been going after. Turnover count was better, but our shots got blocked several times. Much of looked like it might have been from inexperience, and how to handle the defender when shooting. Not a bad game for the girls really. We showed grit and toughness not seen a lot this year. The year has taught us some things. As said the second half we kind of got it in gear and were more effective overall. That #12 girl is awesome.2 points -

Experimental Rule

Some accountability for flopping, even if post game. Creighton might be playing with walk ons in some games if this were inplemented.2 points -
Experimental Rule
trickey and one other reacted to Blindcheck for a topic
My ideas for experimental rules. Allow coaches to have the option to advance the ball to midcourt on a timeout...but if they take that option, they don't get the time alotted to talk to the players...play resumes immediately. This would speed up the game in the last minute by elminating a couple minutes of no action it would also allow teams to have an actual play at the basket in a last second opportunity It would also force coaches to have plays ready for these instances, rather than draw them up Reviews...when looking at reviews of balls knocked out of bounds Right now if an obvious foul was missed but it caused an opposing player to knock the ball out of bounds, they will award the ball to team that should have been called for a foul I believe the officials should take into consideration that the foul (although not called, and still won't be called) caused the ball to go out of bounds and award the ball to the opposing team even if they were last to touch it. To me it seems crazy, they can look at who touched it last but can't take into consideration that a player slapped a guys wrist causing the ball to go out of bounds No timeouts when players are on the ground Awarding a timeout, they often award it as a guy is getting tied up...and it is tough to guage actual possession in these situations Only award timeouts when two feet are on the ground and no other body parts 5 seconds calls They have eliminated the dribbling/closely guarded call I would like to see the five second count on at all times regardless of being closely guarded you get 4 seconds to hold it, 4 seconds to dribble, 4 seconds to pass or shoot This would force more passing and less one on one dribbling I believe it would force more movement...and you would get away from 4 guys standing on the baseline while a point guard tries to drive to the hoop possession after possession My ideas for points of emphasis Travelling...it needs to be reigned in There is nothing worse than seeing a guy get away with travelling only to be rewarded with a foul by the opposing player...who played good defense but only got caught out of position when his oppponent was granted an extra step The euro step when done right is legal...although it is rarely done right and players are getting an extra step. There are so many times on the Eurostep that the player gathers with his back foot on the ground (which makes it his pivot foot) and he takes two full steps which once the pivot foot hits the ground again it is a travel Often they draw a blocking call on the final step...which punished good defensive position overall footwork on the perimeter is sloppy so many players take an extra step when catching the ball and it puts the defensive player at a disadvantage Block Shots Officials need to pay attention to the action after the ball is hit if a player blocks the shot up top, but follows through and hits the shooter, it should be a foul Blocks need to be clean all the way through.. You see a jump shooter get a call on getting hit on their follow through, but a big guy getting hammered after a guy blocks the shot up high, he rarely gets the call Random ideas2 points -

Not sure much was expected this year. Still feel bad for the team and coaches. Not much going their way.2 points -
Hey Norm, since we sometimes police semicolons and grammar, this shouldn't be out of bounds---Isn't "male scrotum" redundant?2 points

Still a good sign. I think this kid is the biggest steal of '17 for whoever gets him. I can't even fathom signing him and Embery back to back. That'd be among the best backcourt in the country in a year or two.1 point -

Indeed, it is a struggle; however, they're not the only ones: teachers, students and professionals of all stripes struggle with our friend, the semicolon.1 point

"The NCAA announced a revamped selection process starting with the 2006 tournament. The main highlights are: Teams are no longer required to have .500 or greater records to receive bids. Even with this change, however, all teams receiving invitations for the NIT have had .500 or greater records."1 point

I guess that's one of the advantages of the NCAA owning the NIT now, they can use it as a guinea pig. Then again, I remember the days when the NIT experimented with the red, white and blue ball. Stan Cloudy's jumper never looked better than with that RWB ball.1 point

I like the quarter rule. Not real high on the free throw bit, but the entire basketball-playing world is on a quarter system. College ball might as well catch up.1 point
