  1. It's nice to see a guy that can actually shoot a layup right or left handed. I don't know why that's so rare these days.

  2. Well folding chair looked a little stiff and slow on his feet. Not sure I would say he had good form in his defensive stance. Now traffic cone.

Kansas level FT shooting team. Only a couple of guys on the team you'd consistently trust to make 2 in a row. **JORDY POSSIBLY STARTS THIS GAME ALERT** While they have a couple of guys with some girth GW has only 1 guy who is Jordy's size. L'Hassane Niangane is a 6'10" offensively challenged rim protector who starts for GW but doesn't play a ton of minutes. He also was raised in France so Jordy and him can converse in multiple languages. KenPom things to notice This is a fast team that is trying to drive at you on offense and trying to force turnovers on defense. Thus it's the type of team that will crash the offensive boards but will give you second chance opportunities on offense. They will hit from outside at a decent rate when forced to run offense so it's not simply a matter of killing their transition offense. A lot of hay to be made by penetrating past their steals focused guards at both the rim and FT line. Crazy to think our 5 losses combined record is 45-4, including three teams that are currently in the Top 10. If we pull off that Clemson win there probably isn't a single poster on here who has anything negative to say about the direction of the program. Except those 1 or 2 guys who think it's ridiculous and uncalled for that we didn't beat the hell out of what will most likely be Creightons best team EVER. I'm super stoked for the season. We have a nice long week of practice and a couple "gimme" games to figure stuff out and get some players up to speed. Then we enter Big Ten, let the fun begin.

This is (of course) an estimate given our schedule and others' and doesn't take a tournament win or two into account but... http://www.rpiforecast.com/teams/Nebraska.html 9-9 in the conference puts us squarely on the bubble (RPI 45). I believe we made it with an RPI of about 40 in 2014. 1-1 in the B1G tournament would probably get us in. This team could hit that 9-9 mark in my opinion -- maybe even 11-7 if we get over our freshman jitters and decide we can win these games instead of playing a bit scared and like freshman. After the first two games our conference schedule isn't that bad. The meat-grinder aspect of our overall schedule is just about done. For whatever it is or isn't worth, I love how this schedule has worked as well.

Interesting take. We had Nat last year with Theriot which is about at least as good as Nat and Doyle. Cayton would serve as first off the bench in that case. Since we were one and in the WNIT first round I think top 20 is by far overly optimistic. With Burns on the bench our post defense is severly lacking so that's a wash copared to last year. Though we would be markedly better I see an NIT at best. Let's also not forget the obvious team chemistry issue which quite frankly did predate Connie's departure and based on body language I am seeing it is persisting today. Q: how much distrust did the investigation cause and when will the women really start trusting and playing hard for each other?

  13. Just so we're all clear on this while Watson has started the every game he didn't start the second half of the Kansas game. Miles pulled Watson, Jacobson, and McVeigh because we were putting on a defensive shit show out there in the first half. It seemed to be a message to a team which did lead to a much better defensive effort in the second half. Watson came in at the first timeout of the 2nd half and still played 29 total minutes. He might have played more if he hadn't fouled out. The only game where he hasn't played 20+ minutes was against Mary. He's going to continue to start and avg 30+ minutes the rest of the season. There are about 11 other guys on this team I'd worry about before I would worry about Watson.

Amazing what a difference a year makes. Just for the heck of it - assume none of what went down in the spring had happened. Yori is still here, Romeo likely is still here, we keep Cayton and Doyle, plus we have Nicea, Hannah, and Grace. That is one kick ass team with what we return, at least top 20 team if not top 15 or even top 10 by year's end. So much talent and experience. Guess we wouldn't have RCJ, though.

I think it's a bit overrated myself, actually. Still, highly recommended. Old time-y arenas like theirs are becoming harder to come by all the time. Allen, Cameron, Hinkle, Williams, Gill...all great old time barns that I would love to visit some day. I'm sorry I never got to visit Ahearn for a hoops game, or GIA pre-renovation.
