It's been fun watching him grow. Going from a kid many called a bust and wanted to transfer to averaging 18pts 5reb 3asst early on in his senior campaign. Just another example of why we need to be patient with these KIDS.5 points -

That's an old wive's tale. They aren't body building. They are training to be better athletes and to have usable strength that can improve game proformance. I believe the phrase used is "functional strength to improve athletic performance." Getting stronger only helps shots, both in adding range and in being more consistent. He sample pool isn't so large but I don't remember his shot lookkng any different last year.5 points -

I don't have much to say, I'm mostly tired. It's been a long day. - I think this was a solid win. Tech was really athletic and caused us some fits. Their shooting lacks a bit, or at least it did tonight. - Tai and Jack were money. - Morrow is developing into the monster we hoped we were getting. - I think the free throws won us the game today. Did a good job of getting to the line and if they can hit at close to that rate, that will be a terrific development for this season. - Curious to see how they handle playing away from PBA. This weekend is largely going to be in front of empty, energyless gyms. Can they create their own energy? If they can, I think they've got an opportunity to steal a win or two. That's what I've got for now. I'll let you all fill in the major details.1 point -

to sdsu 66-64 on last second shot by macy miller. sdsu was ahead by around 13 a good chunk of the game, but, started to run out of gas down the stretch. might put sdsu in upcoming weeks top 25.1 point -

The free throw that Tai hit to get us to 65 was also what he needed to get a new career high point total. I was excited to see him get to 23 points and when he hit it I was pleasantly surprised for a minute that the crowd was also so aware that he had just gotten a new career high and was cheering so loudly for it... ...then I realized they were just cheering for free Runzas.1 point

If Anton truly is a scorer like many of us believe he is, this can only be a good thing for us. We are 3-0 and he has yet to contribute which means he's due BIG TIME. Hopefully has a big game or two in the tourney. That's my positive spin on the situation. Coaches and teammates have got to help him keep his head up until his game comes around.1 point -

Winning three of the next five would be considered a nice start to a successful season. What we do against Creighton and KU are irrelevant as long as we are not humiliated since they are both better teams than NU at this point and have both done this to us in the past. If all turns out well, we might have a chance to beat both next year. But, hey, what do I know? Our recent election proved that.1 point -

Disappointed that he hasn't earned more minutes. By all accounts during his redshirt season he was an amazing scorer. I hoped everything else would come along as well. I was hoping he was going to be able to come in and help fill the void left by white, but as of now it doesn't look like that will happen. I fully trust Coach Miles in his substitution decisions1 point -
Glad you're not an AD. Fire the coach over one game. That makes sense. Don't look at anything else. Beat Creighton or you get fired. I guess that would really please the Cretins. "Our game is so important it got the coach fired!".1 point

The difference was the free throw line. We were 21 - 24 from the line. La Tech was 6 - 12.1 point

The ESPN3 commentators are brutal. Whoever this color commentator is takes 15 seconds to get a sentence completed, thanks to multiple long pauses per phrase. He sounds like he's falling asleep at the mic.1 point -
I figure take the last game we played and put KU in our spot. I'm still going to enjoy seeing the game. I know it's just me...but KU is one of the very few teams that I don't mind losing to. Although beating them is ultra amazing.1 point

Thus far they are not wrong. Also, we beat out UAB and Davison :ThumbsUp:1 point

I think we have a lot of young talent. I also think our non con and conference schedules are brutal this year. I expect that we will struggle this year to remain .500. I also expect this team should get better physically and mentally as the year progresses. In terms of the state of the program I see this as the building year and next year as the year Miles needs to make or run at the NCAA tournament and stabilize this program. I am willing to accept that this year will be growing pains but I also don't want to hear any excuses if Miles can't get it done these next 2 years. Does anyone else feel similarly?1 point

Hey, AF1 --- if you taught her to be good at everything, looks to me like a smashing success. 6 points, 6 boards, 6 assists, and (if i recall correctly) 3 steals PLUS outstanding defense on one of opponent's leading scorer. She would have to sell popcorn and throw free t-shirts to broaden her areas of performance! She is getting to be my fave too.1 point -

Successful Non-Con?
SkersHoops reacted to Hoops_Legend for a topic
We've got one of the better non-con schedules in many years. It'll be a good test. Would 4 losses be a successful non-con? What if we lose to Creighton at home? I know that many here don't want to look at that game as a barometer of our program, but we have to be man enough to accept that the expectation should always be to beat them. We have every advantage in the world to have a better program, but we don't get the job done. I understand that college basketball comes down to the coaching advantage (or disadvantage), but is McDermott really that much better? I guess stats often can prove a point, Miles 0-12 vs McDermott and 0-4 vs Creighton. If we can't beat these guys, then how can we expect to compete in B10? Sorry for the frustration, but if we don't get the job done this year, I'm an advocate for finding someone who will. Can't lose this game every freakin year. 4 or fewer losses and a win vs CU= successful non-con in my opinion.-4 points
