Wasn't Danny Manning and Kansas at the Lincoln Regional that year? KU didn't have a great record but still made the Tournament. Lots of KU fans present and I believe the locals also were pulling for KU. They got hot and rode the momentum all the way to a National Championship.

His 3pt stroke/form looks like Reink's somewhat. Also, us recruiting him might be more evidence about our fears regarding Mast's knees

I remember one on 29th and O, right by the Village Inn. Had these rolls with a creamy filling. God awful but I had one a day!

I went with some friends. I remember a 6’ 10”forward from Pitt or Maryland, Smith, I think. Also, I think K State was there, Blackwell played for them,I believe. What I remember the most were those damn basket extensions that came down from the ceiling. I sat right where it block my view some.

Yep, I was there. Great atmosphere and some pretty good basketball. I hope Lincoln is able to host again in the near future.
-
I like the pick and pop action with him. Not the most explosive kid but skilled for his size. Wonder how well he can defend the paint and perimeter.
-
Sounds right. Didn't you go to those games? Like Jimmy said, it didn't make Xavier very popular with the BDSC crowd.

Game looks like it'll fit. Had a drop in efficiency with an increase in volume this last year. But he can shoot and looks to be effective at pulling down ORB https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/touko-tainamo-1.html

Wonder what happened at the end of the season for him. Averaged 15 pts/game but had just 23 total points in the last 5.

A new Luca follow

ah ok...then yeah that would make sense. There were almost as many 7-11's in Nebraska as there were corn fields back in the 80s.

Xavier actually practiced in the Pius gym the day before their game. They were not too popular at BDSC when they entered.
-
Nebraska playing Texas A&M likely was part of the reason CJ ended up there as he would have been scouted by them as part of that process and they obviously liked what they saw
-
The year was 1988 when Xavier played Kansas in the first round.
-
The quote goes back to the 80's, I think. Xavier was in the NCAA tournament that Lincoln was hosting. Can any veterans on the board back me up on this?
-
yep.........going to Texas
-
Can tell what little he knows. There hasn't been a 7/11 here since the 90s.
-
Free trip to SoCal?
-
Only recruit high school kids that are within 500 miles of Lincoln is my thought. hopefully at some point NIL contracts become 2 year deals between players and universities
-
Judging from his interviews, he knows better than that.

I'm tired of the extra seasons, but it has helped Nebrasketball, nevertheless... it's time to be done with it. Deion is a dipstick. This schtick will end horribly, I'd imagine, once his son is a QB in the league. Basketball is in a unique position in that a team basically only needs about 5-8 good enough players to go with 1 (or 2) star player(s) to be more than competitive. That's the point of development, a team can't just re-load every single year unless it's KU or Calipari at UK... I suppose now that opportunity is there for everybody, but I don't believe it is sustainable long-term. Time will tell...

He thinks his pro future is on the wing?
-
Maybe leverage to drive up his NIL value?
-
Kyle visiting UCLA is odd as they have 2 transfer PF types already (ranked higher than Kyle) and a young C they like.
-
Believe I heard she’s headed to Texas.
