uneblinstu's postgame chatter: Vol: 10; ed: 24 - vs Iowa

    Win and move on.

I will classify this as a good win.  I will also give Iowa credit for some good offensive sets and the ability to shoot the rock rather than ragging on our defense.  But we did have some ugly defensive breakdowns that I haven't seen for awhile.

Thought Jordy played his best game of the year.  Good to see, and hopefully it is just a sample of what we will continue to see.  Anybody know why Tanner did not suit up or Duby not seeing the floor?

Man, was Isaac hot at the start or what.  Wow.

I hated how we started the second half.  I was torked.  The crowd was still thinking of the football coach introduction and the players were thinking that rest was fleeting.  But we were able to switch our game back on and put the game away.

Offensively, I thought all played well.  I am surprised Glynn only shot three times, but he distributed the ball well.

We had a few careless turnovers again.  In close games, they are killers.

Couldn't get that 100 mark...but we had our chances.

Really enjoy putting a beating on the Hawkeyes. Thought the crowd was good for the most part. There were some lulls but that can be expected when a big lead gets built. I was actually impressed by the little amount of Iowa fans. I got to the game an hour or so early and seemed to me that there were lots of fans wearing yella. I was a little concerned about how many of them would be in PBA. But after the game got started and I scanned the crowd all of them that got in were all of the ones I saw. Let's keep this thing a going.

We had about 7 Io_a fans sitting in the row in front of us.  You could tell they wanted to get loud so bad, but couldn’t because their team was getting handled.  I thoroughly enjoyed their silence and made sure to clap a little louder than normal.

Had a like maybe 13 or 14 years old Iowa fan with mom and dad and he starts out kind of loud and a bit obnoxious in that middle school voice that hasn't changed yet.  I'm thinking going to be a long game if this stays close.

It quiets down as be start to handle them, a bit of whinning but nothing bad.  He and dad go get an icecream for the family at half and don't come back until Iowa has cut the lead to 2. I turn to him and say "Dude looks like you have to stay in the hall, your boys went on the run with you out there."  He got a big smile on his face and the rest tof the game was better.

It wasn't really ever bad but it could have been. Plus like everybody else said fun to send them home quiet and with a big loss.

I heard Coach Miles take blame in the post-game.  He indicated that he thought our defense was okay, and at least some of the errors were on the staff for poor defensive design, due in part, to the lack of preparation time.  I thought that disclosure was good.  He also said that the lack of prep time for Wisconsin was concerning, but less so, since we have played them already this year.

Here is hoping that we are ready to go.  By the way, did anyone else notice the consistent stretching that Isaiah was doing.  He seemed tight.

I noticed he was on the bike often when he was not in the game, hopefully there aren't any issues there.

A shout out to Jordy T.  11 points 8 rebounds.  I really like when he seals off a lane when other Huskers are driving to the bucket.  Keep improving Big Guy and GBR!

Roby does that better than anyone  He is constantly screening the lane for his teammates to drive to the hoop

I don't think I've ever seen Evan try and viciously block a shot like he did vs. Cook so I really think he purposely did that to keep Jordy from picking up his 3rd foul in the first half.

I hope the pace of the game was beneficial. I didn't necessarily want to see us running too much but playing some ole defense probably wasn't mentally taxing.

Cool, except the tsweet headline doesn't match the pic. That's James Palmer Jr.

Palmer is noted below the picture (cut off) and he did lead the scoring.

Do the new shooting shirts "I Am The Storm" reference the l'more of one Donald Trump?

Fate whispers to the warrior, 'You can not withstand the storm.' The warrior whispers back, 'I am the storm.' - Unknown

It's a quote that's been floating around the internet for years. It was made very popular by Tom Brady but the Huskers had this in their vernacular before that happened.

We tend to put something on a shirt every year.  It will stick if we win, which we are doing now.  #IAMTHESTORM has a shot to be up there with #USALWAYS

Not sure if this was mentioned in the game thread but at one point Bohannon backed off of Watson on the 3 and Watson didn't shoot and passed the ball off; Miles pulled him for Allen shortly after. He didn't attempt a 3 in that game and is 0-8 from 3 over his last 4 games.  His conference eFG% is 36%...basically Tai Webster freshman year production.  Somewhere in there is a good shooter...he's hitting 85% from the FT line during the conference.

There was talk of him breaking out of his slump at Rutgers with 10 points but I'd argue he's simply learning to mitigate his shooting woes which isn't the worst thing in the world.  Once again I'm not advocating that he sits or anything as everything else he brings to the table is there and needed.  He needs to get through this next game and work on retooling his outside shot over the next week....he can't really break it any more.
