Opposing player to watch:  Trey Ziegler

Hey!  It's the coach's son!  Trey had some offers from some big time basketball schools but in the end decided to play for his father in the MAC conference.  The 6'5" possible NBA prospect leads the Chippewas in scoring and rebounding and is comfortable handling the ball on the perimeter or in the paint.  Ironcally, the one thing a kid named Trey doesn't do on this team is shoot the 3 ball, attempting all of 13 this year.  Expect Ziegler to attack the basket throughout the game has he averages twice as many shots and free throw attempts as any other member of the team.  If you can't stop him, you can foul him though: Ziegler is shooting a putrid 58.7% from the charity stripe this year.

Opposing player to watch:  Olivier Mbaigoto

Mbaigoto is a so-so juco transfer who provides some size and fancies himself as a 3 point shooter.  His last name also sort of sounds like Will Ferrell's character from Zoolander and he's making less than 30% of his shots on the year.  At all times you should be rooting for him to attempt to score and understand that he invented the piano tie.

Opposing players to watch:  McBroom and Jackson

This seems like the title to some sort of 80's sitcom, right?  Nope... these are just the guys that are going to be hanging around the 3 point line as half of their shots are 3 balls and McBroom is currently 21-42 on the year.

    Possible Lineups (Chippewas)

    Position Ht. Yr. PPG
    G Trey Zeigler 6-5 So. 17.3
    G Derek Jackson 6-0 So. 10.7
    G Austin McBroom 6-0 Fr. 11.2
    F Andre Coimbra 6-9 So.  9.5
    F Olivier Mbaigoto 6-7 Jr.  6.0

    Possible Lineups (Huskers)

    Position Ht. Yr. PPG
    G Bo Spencer 6-2  Sr.  16.1
    G Brandon Richardson 6-0  Sr.   5.9
    G Caleb Walker 6-4  Sr.   7.2
    F Brandon Ubel 6-10  Jr.   6.7
    F Toney McCray 6-6  Sr.   9.1

The last warm-up game before the start of the B1G for the Huskers pits another team that seems like a "gimmie" on paper.  Given the amount of injuries suffered by the Huskers and their head-scratching performance against Alcorn State on Sunday there aren't any more "gimmies" on the schedule including the Chippewas.  Central Michigan has lost 4 out of 5 but brings in the sort of trap style that could lead to an upset...and almost did in Ames on Sunday.  The Chips play at a slow tempo and don't turn the ball over a lot.  They also shoot the 3 ball pretty well.

This is a team that the short handed Cornhuskers should be able to handle as they're not very talented on the interior so it's simply a matter of remaining disciplined and playing them straight up.  On offense they're going to look fairly familiar as they're going to run clock most times after giving up on getting the ball inside until Zeigler decides to operate or one of their guards needs to take a 3 pointer.  Given the Chips are even a thinner team than the injured Huskers, the keys to the game are simply to remain disciplined and make Trey Zeigler work for all the points he's going to score anyway.

    Prediction:  Huskers 62 - Chips 52 with a 68% chance of Runzas
