    Possible Starters

    Nebraska

    32 Benny Parker G 5-9 175 Sr.
    0 Tai Webster G 6-4 196 Jr.
    3 Andrew White III G 6-7 216 Jr.
    31 Shavon Shields G/F 6-7 225 Sr.
    24 Jake Hammond F 6-10 235 Soph

    Hurricanes
    13 Angel Rodriguez 5-11 185 Sr
    10 Sheldon McClellan 6-5 200 Sr
    5 Davon Reed 6-6 210 Jr
    33 Ivan Cruz Uceda 6-10 217 Sr
    23 Tonye Jekiri 7-0 248 Sr

    Player to Watch: Tonye Jekiri

Jekiri is a 7' Senior who led the ACC in rebounding last year and is a double-double waiting to happen, averaging 9.8 pts and 10.3 rebounds to go along with 1.5 blocks per game. Also, he doesn't foul much for a big man so he'll probably be on the court most of the game. Expect the Huskers to pick and choose their time in the paint.

    The Skinny

Miami blew through the Puerto Rico tournament last week, taking care of Miss St., Utah, and Butler and went from being unranked to #15 in the country. They responded on Sunday by letting a feisty Northeastern team come in a steal a game, which is not exactly the sort of reality check you want for a good team before you meet.

Jim Larranaga brings one of the most efficient offenses in the nation to Lincoln, averaging 89 points a game despite being one of the slower teams in Div 1. This team shoots well, doesn't turn the ball over, and draw plenty of fouls in addition to killing it on the boards on both ends. Really their only weakness has been giving the opposition open looks at the 3. Look for the Huskers to shoot from downtown quite a bit tonight.

The Huskers will look to push it as much as Miami will allow but we're probably looking at a less than 70 possession game with Miami more than happy to take their time. Thinking back to the last time we beat a rated team here at the PBA in 2014, it was a ruckus crowd that pushed the Badgers a bit and infused confidence into the Cornhuskers. That's the sort of atmosphere needed tonight and it doesn't hurt this game starts at 8.

This team has me starting to believe that Miles has laid the foundation for that elusive tournament win in the next couple of years. However, this is a very young team that is prone to ups and downs. Which direction is the roller coaster going tonight?

    Prediction: Miami 70 - Nebraska 65 with a 45% chance of Runzas

SIGH, I AM SO TIRED OF PEOPLE TRYING NOT TO HAVE FUN DURING GAMES!

I can't get it to work on here because of the filter here at school, but Rosethal tweeted out something about .

You know, if you don't like it DON'T DO IT.

AND I WILL GIVE UP MY TICKETS AND WRITE LETTERS TO THE EDITOR AND STAND OUTSIDE BEFORE GAMES WITH A BULL HORN CALLING PEOPLE OUT IF THEY GET RID OF THE HUSKER POWER AND WE DO THE THREE CLAP THING INSTEED!!!

I think that is much worst than yelling something positive while the other team is being introducted. Three claps like we are tooooooo cooooool to really care but you know whatever. IT IS SO F###ING LAME.

I used to think it was pretty cool when the students all turned their backs during the opponents starting lineups.  I don't care if we do the Husker Power chant or just yell loud anything you want or have it totally silent during their lineup announcement but just don't do the 3 claps.  That is horrible!!!!!

There's three things that go one with the Husker Power chant:

    1) It's a momentum boost at the start of the game

    2) It gets the fans involved early on in the game

    3) It sets our atmosphere apart from everyone else

Why would we get rid of it?

It's also unique to us.  No one else does it.  We didn't copy it from anyone.  It's ours.

Yep, that is true.  I've never heard any other school do the Husker Power chant  :)

Come on folks - Let go of the panic button. There hasn't been a big opponent in the arena yet this year. The Husker Power chant isn't going anywhere. This will likely be the first game that the student section is remotely full.

Don't get me wrong I think Shields is a great player, and without him we aren't in the game like we were.  With that said... 25 shots?  WTF!?!

He is not head and shoulders the best player on this team, and should never be taking that many shots.  He shot the ball 14 times more than the next closest guy which was Webster.  White needs more shots, and shields needs to find him more.

I believe Shields went 0-5 down the stretch, and was a huge reason why we lost the game.  Pass the ball coach!  We have multiple players that can score now, and we need to play that way.  No more 25 shot nights for Shavon unless they are all easy baskets.  He does not need to "do everything"  the sooner he know it the more this team will benefit from it.  I truly feel the "take it on myself" attitude can hurt a teams moral and confidence

With that said, I was proud of the effort minus OT!  I think this team has a ton of potential, and if used right can win a lot of games.

We gotta get White the ball more, and Morrow needs more minutes as well.  I just feel like we have more weapons once Watson and Morrow come in the game.  We were down 12-3, and they came in and boom 10-0 run.

I'm not sure but I think there may be some difference between 'taking shots' and 'driving to the rim.'

That said:  "Heros!  We don't need no stinkin' Heros!"  ;)
