The Nebraska men’s basketball team returns home for a crucial matchup Saturday night, vs Ohio State.
With four games to go, Nebraska needs to put together a couple of wins to solidify their place in the Big Ten standings and avoid playing in the opening round on March 9.
Whether Shavon Shields will play in this important game is questionable, and expected to be a Game Time Decision. Ed Morrow is doubtful for the OSU Game and expected to be called-on only in emergency.

Ohio State (17-10, 9-5 Big Ten) comes to Lincoln riding a three-game winning streak following a 76-66 win over Michigan on Tuesday. In that game, the Buckeyes held the Wolverines to 39 percent shooting and put five players in double figures, led by Marc Loving and Jae’Sean Tate’s 13 points.

Most of the lines I saw were Huskers minus 10.  Something is amiss.

EDIT:  Never mind.  I can't read.  Surprisingly, I can't blame the pregame ritual, which I won't start for a couple of hours.

HEY!  I'm an emotional guy (especially when watching the ladies play) ;)

But I did say 'cheap' imitation.  (and here I was doing so well too, going through emoticon withdrawal. redface.gif)

Here is Rosenthal's take on the game (& what to look for).

    WHO TO WATCH

Thompson. He doesn't have the gaudy stats of other big men in the Big Ten, but he'll be a challenge for an undersized Nebraska team. He averages 1.3 blocks per game.

Jacobson. This will be one of those games where Jacobson must "warm to the fight," as Tim Miles likes to say, against Ohio State's frontcourt length and athleticism.

    Plus

Can Huskers get to the rim, with Ohio State's Defense?

    EDIT:

    Answers

    1. Yes:.  Thompson with 0 points, and only 1 block all game (but 10 rebounds)

    2. Yes:   Jacobson with 5 points, & 9 rebounds

    3.  No    Huskers were not very successful in getting to the rim, which was crucial when mid-range, perimeter shots & FTs were not falling.

Forgot the officiating crew of Blind, Shady, & Crooked.

We shot 27% front the field...I repeat 27% from the field. Perhaps we can have some beef with officiating...but I suggest we start first with our inability to but the ball in the hoop.
