    The Skinny

One more tune-up game before the first real test of the season at Rhode Island. No offense to Central Arkansas, but they're fresh off of giving up back to back 100 point games against Creighton and UNO. Last season 3rd year coach Corliss "Big Nasty" Williamson left to become an assistant at Sacramento in August leaving assistant Clarence Finley to fill in for a year while a long term replacement was found. First year Coach Russ Pernell has ONE RETURNING PLAYER in addition to 9 new guys on scholarship and a couple of transfers sitting out. The Bears have had at least 6 freshmen see playing time this year.

One thing Nebraska will look to work on is their intensity on rebounding as a small Norse team was consistently beating the Huskers on the glass. Nick Fuller and Jake Hammond currently aren't in the 8 man rotation but will get chances sooner than later if Moses Abraham can't position himself. Probably the biggest question on the fans' minds tonight as the squad tunes up to face Rhode Island is whether the Huskers will run with the Bears or try to dictate tempo? It will probably be somewhere in the middle as Bear misses turn into fast break points. If the Huskers hold Central Arkansas under 60 points, be more impressed than if they score over 100.

    Prediction: Nebraska 92 - 65 with a 100% chance of Runzas

Thank you, Dimes, for putting the graphic of the arena and the regions where we're supposed to yell "Husker" and "Power."

The crowd has been less than enthusiastic in performing the "Husker Power" chant this year and we need to kick this into gear.  This can be an important tradition.  Energize things even before the opening tip.

We need to not drop the ball on this.

C'mon students.  Don't let us down.
