kldm64
We aren't currently projected in the NIT field (not surprising) but we are at least as one of the teams being considered http://bracketmatrix.com/nit
Huskerone
Looking at the 2015 CBI and CIT teams, makes me think its NIT or bust for Nebrasketball this year. Only 1 power five conference team (Colorado) in either of those tournaments.

khoock
If we finish with a .500 record I do not see why we do not get some type of post season play, but then again I am not familiar with the selection process of the CBI and CIT. CIT is a mid-major tournament that requires a 0.500 regular season record.
PimpMario
I think we have a really good shot of making the postseason if we can get to 16 wins. Gotta steal an upset somewhere and best Penn St again. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

It's possible, but not a sure thing.
AuroranHusker
If Nebraska is sitting there at 16-16 or 17-15 and do not make the N.I.T., I'd hope that the Vegas tourney is on the docket. Could be a good landing spot for Nebrasketball to continue to gain valuable experience playing together in "March Madness"-lite. If we go to the Vegas 16 you only have to lose a few days to recruiting. Heck during practice you don't need all the coaches in Lincoln. PimpMario
I should clarify I also think we have a shot at the CBI at 15-17. But let's just get to 16-16. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
BugeaterZ
17 wins is very doable. Beating Ohio State at home would not be an upset, nor would Northwestern or Penn State on the road. Plus a game in the B1G tourney as a favorite and another against a 7-8-9-10 seed. That's five games with a good chance of winning. Only need 3 of those to get to 17. huskerbaseball13
NIT would be great...but, any postseason at this time I'll be happy with. More games+practice time for the young guys can't hurt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

jimmykc
If I do the math right it appears that there are 164 teams who will be able to play in a post season tournament of some sort. And that is not counting at least two teams who are not eligible to play because of sanctions. If merit has anything at all to do with teams being chosen it is hard to believe we will not be able to go somewhere if we want to keep playing. If these postseason opportunities continue to proliferate, it makes a good argument for those who want to let every team play in the NCAA tournament. Of course if merit were the sole reason for postseason extravaganzas, we would have no Fosters Farms Bowl.
HuskerFever
If I do the math right it appears that there are 164 teams who will be able to play in a post season tournament of some sort. Keep in mind that we are not eligible for 32 of those 164 spots. The CIT is set for mid-major teams. That said, we still have our hands in a couple of postseason tournaments. jimmykc
Still, the mid-majors are some of the 351 Division I teams and the math again seems to indicate 47% of these teams will play postseason somewhere. I can't help but feel there will be a spot for us once our team is compared to all of the Rutgers and Minnesotas , not to mention the Grambling State and Abilene Christians, who are in the remaining 53%. PimpMario
So there are 132 spots for non mid major spots. Our rpi is 150. Penn state is 117. That is not to say we won't be invited to the CBI or Vegas 16. I would think we are attractive because we have the best fans in the nation. jimmykc
I think if we beat Penn State twice, it won't much matter to the third tier tournament what their RPI is when they decide which team to invite.

Handy Johnson
Going to a Bowl game with a losing record and then following that up with a CBI/CTI invite makes my a** tired. We're better than that, and as I've heard Miles say, "you get what you tolerate".
