Michigan pregame talk

I see that former basketball coach Barry Collier is going to be in attendance. Not that it's a big deal, but this has got to be his first visit since leaving Nebraska.

I like seeing our former coaches in attendance.  Wondering where you saw that and I found it below.  I hope Moe returns someday, but am beginning to think he will never come back - that's a shame.

Posted in the official media thread, but I thought this one was fairly appropriate for this thread too:

KNTK - Morning Take:  Nebrasketball takes on Michigan tomorrow, should it be “No Sit Saturday”?

Is it crazy to see peoples’ attitude change about Tim Miles in the span of just a couple weeks? Was the heat warranted?

I don't  have the foggiest Idea how to update a Wiki post...but if anyone here does...maybe the next to last sentence in the career coaching needs to be changed a bit. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moe_Iba

"Iba's teams there achieved 3 NITs and one NCAA bid, the only NCAA appearance in the school's history to that date."

It's technically accurate but awkward. Really it should be something like

Iba's teams there achieved 3 NITs appearances and Nebraska's first NCAA tournament appearance.

Nice preview...Glynn Watson's mid game isn't like Steve Harley's

watson.png

So far, Glynn still has a fairly low volume of shots "as a starter" for an in-depth analysis like this, IMHO. For the entire season, Watson has taken 117 two-point shots and 40 three-point shots. He's only started 8 games out of 20 played. He averaged less than 20 min/gm prior to starting, but his season average is up to 22.2 mpg. Would love to see his % shot chart after the year is finished for a comparison as a 25-28 mpg starter.

Behind Enemy Lines: Q&A with Corn Nation for Michigan-Nebraska - Maize n Brew

Corn Nation's Patrick Gerhart answered our questions about Nebrasketball and believes Saturday's game will go down to the wire.

Okay, I am not sure how to really talk about this subject in a politically correct manner, and perhaps I will be knocked around about it, but I am going to throw it out onto the table.

We play Michigan on Saturday.  This will be a big game against Michigan.  The MAIZE and Blue of Michigan.  Michigan Maize looks an awful lot like GOLD or YELLOW.

So the issue...Saturday is also a very special day for another reason.  It will be AveryStrong day at the Vault...and what will be the give away to the students?  You got it, To honor the fight that Avery has gone through, the first 500 students at Saturday’s game will receive an #AveryStrong shirt provided by Husker IMG Sports Marketing, turning the Red Zone gold on Saturday.  The gold shirt symbolizes pediatric cancer, while the orange is the color for leukemia, symbolizing Avery’s battle.

Again, I am first in line to support that young man's battle.  That said, I am very conflicted with the painting of the Vault a primary color for the opposing team.

Am I totally whacked out about this?

I personally think it's great because to me the issue (pediatric cancer) is more important than the game.  You know during the telecast that the shirts will be brought up & maybe more so because of their color.  If it get's more people to maybe help become registered, I say go for it.
