T-Rank starts with a "program rating" of every school. This is based on the efficiency ratings of the last three seasons. The two other main inputs are: returning minutes and returning players.

He says he also tracks transfers and top 100 recruits, but their effect is less. The guy's a Badger fan, if that matters.
