Player to watch: Brandon Ubel

After spending his first three seasons as a complimentary players, Brandon has been asked to step up his game offensively and so far has responded. His team leading 15.3 pts per game is nearly 10 points more than he's ever averaged in a season. He routinely draws double and sometimes triple teams and once again leads the team in rebounding. While Miles mentioned him shooting the 3 ball again, he still hasn't found his stroke from his freshman year. While he needs to start finding the open man while doubled and has yet to face any major post talent, it's safe to say Ubel has stepped up his game like we all hoped.

Opposing player to watch: Chris Evans

Chris Evans is an offensive rebound waiting to happen. Kent State's version of Ubel is leading the team in scoring and rebounding and is averaging 4 offensive rebounds per game. However, the senior is averaging 4 turnovers per game so the Huskers should be able to pressure him into giving the ball back.

Can the Huskers keep winning?

While Nebraska has played 4 beatable opponents and while it hasn't always been pretty, each time they've found a way. They face a beatable Kent St team that for the first time in more than a decade isn't predicted to be a major factor in the MAC. The Golden Flashes are in a bit of a rebuilding mode themselves with 4 new starters. What they lack in experience they make up for in depth, typically playing 10 deep depending on matchups.

Kent St. crashes the offensive boards, tries to run, and generates fouls to offset their so-so shooting ability. As long as the Huskers are patient enough to work into the paint and can limit the number of second possessions by the Flashes, they should be able to control the game and run their record to 5-0. A young Kent State team on their first road game of the year is yet another beatable opponent for the Huskers as long as they continue to show up and believe they can win.

Prediction: Huskers 68 - Golden Flashes 61 with a 78% chance of Runzas
