Huskers Head to Los Angeles for Holiday Clash with USC

The Nebraska women’s basketball team hits the road for the Thanksgiving holiday to take on USC in Los Angeles on Friday, Nov. 23. Tip-off between the Huskers (4-1) and Trojans (2-1) is set for 4 p.m. A free live audio stream will also be available on Huskers.com.

USC enters Friday’s game against Nebraska with a 2-1 record after running to a 72-58 victory over Arkansas State. All 10 Trojans who played scored in the game. The Trojans opened the year with a 63-52 loss to perennial West Coast power Gonzaga before bouncing back with a 65-56 win over Pepperdine USC’s game with Nebraska will mark its fourth consecutive home game.

Overall, USC has had only 10 players see action early in the season, and only eight have played in all three games. As a team, USC has averaged 63.0 points per game, while surrendering just 59.0. The Trojans have hit just 40.5 percent of their shots from the field, including just 24.2 percent (8-33) of their three-pointers. USC’s experience inside has translated into a plus-12.3 rebound margin. But the Trojans also carry a minus-4.7 team turnover margin, turning the ball over an average of 22 times per game.

USC is an even 3-3 against Nebraska, with the Huskers taking wins in the past three meetings. Most recently beating USC 68-50 last season in Nebraska.

Great learning experience for the young Huskers!! The Huskers exhibited great toughness to end the game the last minute and half!

So thankful to have LINDSEY MOORE on our team!!

Lindsey Jordan and Emily combine for 55 points.

Moore has 22 pts 7 rbs and 4 assists

Jordan chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds

Emily Cady wound up with 14 pts and 7 boards.

Another positive: Sample's free throw shooting. She was 6-6. No way that happens last year. Her form on the throws looks completely different. Credit to her for working on that in the off season. Perhaps with her chronic injuries, that was all she could do. We don't win that game without excellent free throw shooting by the whole team.
