Does a play in game count

Would winning a "play in" game actually count towards the streak if we don't win the first real round?

 

Was thinking about that today, and how a play in game really isn't a good deal for us.

VCU made it to the final four from a "play in game" just a couple years ago. The "first round" is no longer a play in situation. It was created to give teams probably more deserving than 16 seed Atlantic Sun/MAAC/WAC/Big South champs a route into the tournament. Hence, Lunardi's "Last Four In" vs. "Last Four Byes" distinction.

Ask K-State (and Mississippi) after they lost to LaSalle last year, after LaSalle won their play-in game. LaSalle ended up going to the Sweet 16, after being a "play-in team".
