49r
...they say there is no such thing as bad publicity, but Man, I hate articles like these.
uneblinstu
Minnesota is the most balanced program. I kinda chuckled at that.
colhusker
Some times the truth hurts. I am sure most kids know we have not been good of late, and by of late I mean in a long time.

Navin R. Johnson
They make it sound like conferences are all the same in all sports. The Big 10 is much, much, tougher in basketball than football and most years the Big 8/12 was much better or had a lot more depth in basketball than football. FredsSlacks
this article is just stating the facts, but i find it a good thing that people aren't taking us seriously. We will surprise a lot of people over the next few years.
hoop_head
Wow ...Minnesota is mediocre in both sports. Hurray. Success in both followed by scandal. Also, what is a hack Bleacher Report columnist from Northwestern doing on Wall Street Journal? TheGov21
AuroranHusker
Husker football = 70% all-time win percentage Nebrasketball = 53% Nebraska has dominated on the gridiron, so it's not at all shocking to know there's such a huge difference between those programs all-time. Count me among those more intrigued by Mythagain at #2 in win disparity. Although, the Wolverines are the all-time wins leader as a football program... I have to ask since I've seen this a lot lately but what's behind "Mythagain"? I know with something like "Methzou" that it's a joke on Missouri and meth but I don't get it with Michigan. Are people saying Michigan is a myth? Other than the fact that Mich kind of rhymes with myth I don't see the connection, or more accurately, the intent or purpose behind it. uneblinstu
When you hear a Michigander pronounce Michigan it sounds more like "Meatchicken" than it does "Mythagain", if that's what he's going for.
Silverbacked1
Dioesn't it have something to do with their like 8 national championships in the 20's when there where like 5 champions crowned every year in football.

Yep. Add to that the Wolverines usually are ranked in the preseason much, much higher than their end result...
Handy Johnson
As someone who's lived in Mpls. the last 20 years, let's think about this for a minute. Nothing says "We Suck" more than building a brand new football stadium in a Metro area of 3 million that only seats 45,000. AND they couldn't even sell it out in year one. Oh, and are record in basketball during that same time frame against the mighty Gophers is close to .500. Lazy journalism
Handy Johnson
This speaks to the ridiculous success of our football program more than our lack of success in hoops. If you take our 0 NCAA wins at face value you would assume we're "just bad". But, the football team has won more games than ANYONE the last 50 years, and the basketball teams posted winning records more often than not. So there.
