How many times since the expansion to 68 teams has a play-in game winner made the Sweet 16?

 

I would think it has to be all but maybe 1 or 2.

Not what you were asking, but this stat came up during the Auburn/Clemson game:

 

"Fourth time in tournament history that a #11 seed has made it to the Sweet 16." (Loyola-Chicago and Syracuse this year are included)

UMBC would not have even made the Dance had they not hit a buzzer beater against Vermont in their Conference tourney. It's a terribly fickle and humbling game, look at the scores today, Auburn, Carolina, Cincinatti... WOW. I'm ready for the Huskers to be on the right side of the ledger next year with the Basketball Gods on OUR side.
