HuskerFever
Don't get me wrong, I actually like Adidas more than Nike. In all reality, I despise Nike (not for the apparel, but for their business practices). With that said, when it comes to being innovative, hip, and modern, Adidas gets blown out of the water. And whenever Adidas comes out with a good idea, they over-saturate it across the market and makes it become obsolete. For instance, NC State has the SAME EXACT design that Nebraska/Wisconsin had for their alternative uniforms: It doesn't take a lot to figure out that Adidas is behind the ball (pun completely intended) and struggle to connect with their audience (the student athletes and fans). Nike continually comes up with more innovative and creative ideas and makes those unique to each school. Note: Please leave the whole "Nike creates successful programs" business out of the discussion. Thank you in advance.
FredsSlacks
I thought someone in another thread said NU was considering Under Armour. I would prefer Nike, But I'm getting pretty sick of Adidas too. I think NU has to renew the contract soon or go with someone else.
hhcscott
I think we should switch to Nike. I noticed in a couple of recent games against Nike schools that obvious traveling calls weren't made against the schools with the swoosh but were against the Adidas school. I guess that's Jordan's legacy. Silverbacked1, Red Rum and hhcmatt

Busch Light
I wish Nebraska basketball could sign their own contract. I've always thought we should approach Sean John (or another urban outfitter) and have them design some uniforms. I bet it would make a difference in recruiting. Huskerpapa
But...at the time, this was one of the best college deals that had been made. This is part of the article that was written at the time of the 2005 contract signing... While the final contract is not complete, both parties have agreed to an eight-year term over which adidas will provide the University of Nebraska Athletic Department more than $22 million in cash and product. The guaranteed base of $22,725,000 is believed to be one of the top apparel and footwear contracts in Division I Collegiate Athletics. The past relationship between Nebraska and Adidas weighed heavily in Nebraska's decision to move forward with adidas America's proposal. When they do their pro combat uniforms every year, they're all the same except for the school colors are different. No different than what Adidas is doing. The only reason why NC State's looked the same as ours is because they wear the same colors. This is the design Adidas used this year. Nike has their design for their schools. They'll all be the same except for the specific school colors.
Silverbacked1
Nike tends to use the teams mascots a bit more also. And tend to be more brightly colored.

Do you know what the unique thing is about Nike's alternate jerseys for teams this year is? The team's logo. Otherwise the Nike jerseys are all the same as well. Check it out: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaab-the-dagger-college-basketball-blog/eleven-more-teams-don-alternate-jerseys-similar-gonzaga-191520872--ncaab.html You guys just like to complain. adidas is just as innovative as any of the other apparel companies. hhcmatt
You guys just like to complain. adidas is just as innovative as any of the other apparel companies. This. Nike has Oregon. Under Armor has Maryland. If Adidas has a place where they "innovate" by throwing out a different design every week it's certainly not in the US as the company was founded in Germany. When the Big 12 almost broke no one wanted Kansas. It doesn't matter if you can prove that one brand might attract better players or not....football is the ultimate deciding factor in funding for the U. Red Rum
You guys just like to complain. adidas is just as innovative as any of the other apparel companies. This. For a while now Nike has pretty much a base design for all of their basketball unis and seem to let teams put their own "personal" touches on them. Like the argyle design on the sides of the UNC jerseys. Same goes for all the Adidas schools except for Cincinnati it seems. If you look Creighton and St. Louis basically have the exact same jersey except the name on the front. Saying Nike is more "hip, and modern" I guess is in the eye of the beholder. But do say they don't over saturate the market is just not true.

uneblinstu
I kinda like the pinstripes. A ton of players go with the under shirt as it is, doesn't bother me a ton.

Silverbacked1
I coached with a guy who grew up in the 50's in Florida. His high school had some church high school in his conference and they couldn't show any skin but their heads and hands. He showed me their uniforms once and they where long sleeves with long pants. Actually it just looked like they where in their warm ups to play. The best part was they were that shinny material that was famous on 50's uniforms. They actually looked like a white team of the Globetrotters. i am seeing more players now wearing the long sleeve under amour shirts. Know Brittney Griner wears one now. We will not be getting these. The college teams that most likely will be getting them this year are Kansas, Louisville, UCLA, Baylor, and I think Michigan. Nebraska is not a top tier team or brand recognized team. So, it will not be happening this year. I suggest you all follow uni-watch.com if you are not already visiting the site on a daily basis. It is probably the best site on the interent for uniform/sports apparel information.
Jadler
I'm still iffy on these. However, I would like to see these used as an alternative to the over-sized t shirt worn underneath the uniform.
