After looking at the remaining schedule, the margin looks to be far closer to razor thin than I thought.

If Nebraska wins out, one of these scenarios would have to transpire in order for us to get that #8 spot:

  • Michigan State finishes out 1-4
  • Indiana gets swept by Nebraska and goes 2-1 against Maryland  (finishes out 2-3)
  • Iowa loses out and finishes 0-6

If Nebraska loses 1 (goes 4-1), one of these scenarios would have to occur:

  • Michigan State loses out (0-5)
  • Indiana loses out (0-5)

Yup, a heck of a hole we dug ourselves into.

Not sure where these #'s are coming from? Seems like there are way more scenarios that can play out to me.

We're 7-10. Indiana is 9-9. MSU is 9-9.

If we go 5-0 and Indiana/MSU go 2-3,  we would be 12-10 and they would be 11-12.

If we go 5-0 and Indiana/MSU go 3-2, we would be 12-10 and they would be 12-11.

If we go 4-1 and Indiana/MSU go 1-4, we would be 11-11 and MSU/Indiana would be 10-13.

If we go 4-1 and Indiana/MSU go 2-3, we would be 11-11 and MSU/Indiana would be 11-12.

If we go 3-2 and Indiana/MSU go 1-4, we would be 10-12 and they would be 10-13.

Disclaimer: This is only relevant if B1G goes off win pct for seeds, which I would assume they would.

Looks like I may have miscalculated the denominator. So here's all the possibilities (at 3-2 or better):

Nebraska goes 5-0:

  • OSU or Illinois goes 1-4
  • Iowa goes 3-2 (not sure on tiebreaker, we went 1-1 in the series, but they have a better overall record)
  • Indiana or MSU goes 3-2

Nebraska goes 4-1:

  • Tiebreakers if OSU goes 0-5, Illinois 0-5, or Iowa 2-3 (Rutgers doesn't go 5-0)
  • Indiana or MSU goes 2-3

Nebraska goes 3-2:

  • Indiana or MSU goes 1-4 (Maryland or Rutgers doesn't go 5-0)

Can you verify, @The Polish Rifle?

This looks correct to me. Still have work to do, but still technically control our own destiny since we pass Indiana with a sweep.

Hopefully this team plays with the fire they did last night, didn't like Erstad pulling Gelo after his bat flip. The team playing angry last night looked a heck of a lot better than the team "grinding" in big games in the past.

If Nebraska wins out (4-0):

  • Iowa or Indiana win no more than 1 more game (1-3), OR
  • Michigan State goes 2-2 or worse
  • AND Maryland wins no more than 3 games

If Nebraska goes 3-1:

  • Iowa and Indiana loses out (0-4), OR
  • Michigan State goes 1-3 or worse
  • AND Maryland wins now more than 2 games (2-2) and Rutgers wins no more than 3 games (3-1)

A Senior Day win is a must

Or our hopes are a bust.

And my B1G tourney tickets might as well be for sale!

They are in the club level...where I would need to drink

to watch a Huskerless tourney.

Well, to be honest, I was planning on drinking even if we make the tournament.
