Responsible for a US region to assist coaches in identifying potential student-athletes and serve as on-campus host. Develop, implement, direct and monitor effective student mentoring program. Coordinate and direct the Life Skills outreach program in the community. Work closely with assistant coaches, helping to manage and oversee many of their off-the-court responsibilities and assisting in community service efforts. Serve as liaison to all current men’s basketball student-athletes and incoming recruits. Weekend and evening hours are required. Occasional travel during the season.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Additional, two years’ experience in athletic business operations, working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and collegiate basketball playing experience. Career experience will have demonstrated working computer knowledge, and excellent oral/written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in basketball operations at the Division I level.

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required. Subject to DOT approved pre-employment/random testing for alcohol and controlled substances.

So how does the university not have to do a random drug test with the CDL? Or am I reading this wrong.

Wonder if Tim Miles has someone in mind but the university requires the position to be posted for all to see before hiring his "guy."

Ali's job was more in player development. This seems more to fall under the recruitment side of things.

But unless I am mistaken, the position is sort of like a waiter or waitress.  Much of the income is not salary based.  Wait staff supplement their salary through tips, while the Director position(s) supplement their salaries through camps, and perhaps speaking engagements and so forth.
