With the old school and new school powerhouses taking over all 8 spots in the College World Series this year, it's no surprise we were in for some quality baseball.

 

After the opening round came to a close, all higher seeds advanced to the winners brackets.

 

Monday, June 19:

Florida State fought to their CWS death by hitting back-to-back pitches for 2 home runs in the bottom of the 9th inning so cut the deficit:

 

 

And Florida State continues their lead having the most NCAA tournament and CWS appearances for a team to have never won a College World Series title.

The highly seeded teams going into the NCAA tournament of 64 are still holding on strong. All five remaining CWS teams are ranked in the Top 8. We're in for a real treat.
